The Military Diet

Have any of you tried it? Supposibly if you follow the diet for 3 days you can lose up to 10 pounds.

The military came up with this diet to help overweight recruits lose weight fast. It supposibly works by eating certain foods which causes a chemical reaction and make you lose weight. Heres the diet:

3 Day Diet

DAY 1:

Breakfast--1/2 Grapefruit, 1 Slice of Toast, 2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter, and Coffee or Tea

Lunch--1/2 Cup of Tuna, 1 Slice of Toast, and Coffee or Tea (any brew, as long as it's caffeinated)

Dinner--3 ounces of any type of meat, 1 Cup of Green Beans, 1/2 Banana, 1 Small Apple, and 1 Cup of Vanilla Ice Cream.

Tips to Try:

Warm the apple and/or banana and eat them over the ice cream.
Cook the green beans with the meat or simmer them in the broth.


DAY 2:

Breakfast--1 egg, 1 Slice of Toast, and 1/2 Banana

Lunch--1 Cup of Cottage Cheese (Or 1 Slice of Cheddar Cheese), 1 Hard Boiled Egg, and 5 Saltine Crackers

Dinner--2 Hot Dogs, (no buns), 1 Cup of Broccoli, 1/2 Cup of Carrots, 1/2 Banana, and 1/2 Cup of Vanilla Ice Cream



DAY 3:

Breakfast--5 Saltine Crackers, 1 Slice of Cheddar Cheese, and 1 Small Apple

Lunch-1 Hard-Boiled Egg, and 1 Slice of Toast

Dinner--1 Cup of Tuna, 1/2 of a Banana, and 1 Cup of Vanilla Ice Cream

This is a crash diet that fat soldiers do to pass a tape test. Like anything else, re-shaping your body takes time and patience.

Most of the ten pounds you lose will probably be glycogen, as that looks to be a calorie restrictive diet. If you're serious about losing a lot of fat quickly, there's always Lyle Macdonald's "Rapid Fat Loss Handbook", it's just a protein sparing modified fast and people have reported hilarious results on it. Not an ideal lifestyle by any means but it's possible to be shredding through four pounds of blubber per week.

Yeah I have done it... it works like crazy.
But you have to have a lifestyle change after to keep it off.

I lasted 24 hours.

you have lots of time to lose weight.

are you getting married soon? or are you going to a beach soon but you haven't done nothing over the spring?

I honestly don't know what to say about those 'lose weight fast' gimmicks.

It's not even the most efficient crash diet either. All that toast and banana is going to keep you from totally draining glycogen and losing water weight.

Their dinner seems awfully loaded. I'd rather eat such a large meal for lunch and go for something light in the evening.
