Vienna Mini Datasheet (Summer 2013)

This week I spent 3 nights in Vienna (Sunday-Wednesday) with family and had some decent expectations after getting my Viennese flag last year, especially when the girls from Vienna told me that their city is the ONS capital of Europe.

Lodging/Logistics:
For my family we got two apartments by Stiftgasse near the museumquartier. Did that through Airbnb, PM me if you want specifics as one was an amazing one-bedroom and the other was a dump. I took the dump since my dad was paying for the trip so couldn't really argue plus he's my dad. Location I would say is pretty good, but could have been better. Late at night anyway you take taxis and it is not too difficult to get around, so it doesn't impact you that much. And since different nights have different areas which are popular, I don't think it is that bad to be in one place versus another.

Airport/Metro:
From the airport, we took a taxi for a fixed rate because that was cheaper for a group than the CAT train. Pretty easy and everyone speaks English. Metro is also very easy to use, not hard to figure it out. I connected in Heathrow (I know, I know) and they lost my bag until a few hours later. Annoying but what can you do.

One tip: There is a Tmobile store right at the airport so you can get a prepaid sim for 15 euros that will last you at least for 3 days as mine did not run out. Includes texts, calls and data.

Nightlife:
Just go off this datasheet because it was damn accurate for the nights I was there.

Sunday night was dead, walked around and found nothing. The alternative bar mentioned in that thread called Donau was open and had some people but not very approachable as they were in groups. Place was definitely alternative, had a goth feeling to it. Because of the weather the MQ was dead too, so literally no people there any of the nights really.

Monday night met up with a mutual friend at Schwedenplatz for some drinks, it was livelier but not the crowd you want (older people, professionals). Eventually convinced her to go to Kju based on that datasheet and it was going off. Lots of students and mid-20s people getting drunk. So I got drunk too. Third approach of the night was some brunette Daria looking girl with glasses (love that style), hit it off right away. I'd say within 10 minutes we were making out, danced some more and after about 30 minutes I suggested we go back to my place. She said ok [Image: icon_eek.gif], told her friends and they said cool have fun [Image: icon_eek.gif], and then one of her friends actually came with us to the coat check, got her coat and ushered us out. [Image: icon_eek.gif] [Image: icon_eek.gif] I was in complete shock at the reverse cockblock. So we went back to my place, banged it out and she left. Solid night.

Tuesday night hit up Lutz as per the previous datasheet again. This was a more posh club, with great talent. Lots of dressed up girls there to be noticed. Also lots of guys with money there too, as I saw a bunch of $300+ bottles being bought around the place. Get there before 11:15 to avoid the huge line.

At first I was just chilling with my siblings watching people interact. Went up to one superthin hot blonde and started talking to her, and she immediately loved me because I was from California. Spent most of the night with her even though I knew I wasn't getting the bang (she had to be up early), but on the off-chance I hit a homerun I thought it was worth the risk. When she left talked to a few more girls who were also very receptive but wasn't able to close anything.

I was told Passage (pronounced like massage) was the place for Wednesday nights, but wasn't there to verify it.

Girls:
Generally pretty cute, mostly anglo-features. A lot of thin girls here, and they loved the fact that I was from California. In fact at Lutz I watched guys hit on the same girls I later did to get rejected quickly, yet my approaches were welcome once they found out I was not Viennese. You can speak English here with ease, every girl knows it.

So the average is pretty good, lots of 6-7s, a decent amount of 8s at the posher places. Saw maybe one or two 9s during the 3 nights I was out. Probably more come out for the weekend.

Guys:
There were three types of Viennese guys I saw. The ones that just got wasted and tried to approach like a kamikaze pilot; the ones that are just massively built and basically just go hey look at my muscles, and a few with style/game that I saw pull. Overall I would say the competition is weak.

Strategy:
Standard western game worked fine. I was the most dressed up on Monday night (blazer) and I think that worked in my favor to get the bang.

Food/Costs/Other:
Vienna is so damn windy its unbelievable. Also it was cold and rainy when I was there, and the weather reports were 100% inaccurate to the point of amazement.

Cost wise it is the same as LA maybe even a bit more. That is the one negative of the city. Drinks at the Monday club were about 4-5 euros, and 7-8 euros at the posh club. Dinners would run about 60-80 euros for 4 of us, granted at touristy places in the midrange. Latte at a cafe (touristy again) would be about 4-5 euros.

Actually the second would be the food too, it isn't horrible but not that exciting either. You get tired of the schnitzel and pork dishes.

Conclusion:
I would definitely go back. If it was cheaper it would be great. Girls here are more than open to ONS and you can probably get into the higher end girls here easier than other places with some time given how much they enjoyed the fact I was from America. If I had another week I could have probably gotten some dates in with the blonde and another girl I approached that night. It's just expensive and the winters must suck ass if in June it was that cold.

Nice Datasheet, glad you had a good experience!
I´ll comment on a few things:

Quote:Quote:

That´s honestly the first time I hear that, and I highly doubt it. (That award would probably go to somewhere in Scandinavia.)

Stiftgasse should be quite a good location. Especially if you are day gaming on Mariahilferstrasse or Museumsquartier, and near two central Metro lines crossing at Volkstheater. Except the clubs along the Gürtel (which are also not far away), all nightlife locations are in walking distance or a short Metro ride away. Also perfect for sightseeing. It´s in Neubau district, also known as Hipsterville, where many students and young professionals live.

Spot on, nightlife in Vienna is kind of decentralized. If you stay near the Ringstrasse or in the districts between Ringstrasse and Gürtel, you should have no troubles though.

Never take the CAT train if you don´t have to. There´s a regular ÖBB train on the exact same route from the airport to the city center. Takes 10 Minutes longer, is 10€ cheaper. Most tourists don´t know, unfortunately.

Haha, congratulations. Why would they stop her from hooking up with an (I assume) attractive American tourist? No danger involved. That isn´t normal in the states I guess.
Also keep in mind that being from California is an instant DHV. Lot´s of girls have it on their to-do list, her friends were probably envious. [Image: biggrin.gif]

I can´t really say much about Passage, except that everyone I know (me included) went their exactly once and never again.

A lot of thin girls here
What? Damn, things must be hard over there in the States...

We certainly profit from the heavy influx of EE girls who come here to work or study. Also a lot of turkish or croatian/bosnian/serbian immigrants. The "real" Austrian girls are usually nothing special, but maybe I´m biased, or I got used to them. Vienna has a few gems compared to rural Austria though.
Fun fact: Around 1900 Vienna had the second largest Czech population of Europe (behind Prague), and it´s estimated that around 40% of native Viennese are of Czech descent.
Also many Slovakians prefer the Nightlife in Vienna. It´s only a 1 hour train ride to Bratislava.
And every weekend there is a fair amount of Slovakian teens coming from Bratislava to Vienna, as the legal drinking age in Slovakia is 18, and 16 in Austria. Usually you find them around Schwedenplatz or at Praterdome.

Unfortunately, I don´t doubt that for a second.

True. Game is a game changer here.

Quote:Quote:

Now that´s kind of a surprise. Maybe because you were at Kju, which if I remember correctly doesn´t have a high-end crowd? It is not unusual to see someone wearing a blazer when going out.

Windy as hell, yes. But you really visited at a bad moment, we had so much rain in the last two weeks that large parts of the country were flooded.

Quote:Quote:

You should have avoided the touristy restaurants, there´s world class cuisine to be had in Vienna for a reasonable price.

Don´t know about expensive as I can´t compare. You are certainly right about winter, this year´s one lasted almost six months.

If you visit again, I´d be happy to show you around some more. (Also any other RVF members, of course!)
You obviously have good game, but your comment on the food is really bothering me, so there is room for improvement!

@Celtic, yeah I probably would have found better food if I was with a local. It wasn't bad by any means, just a bit boring to my tastes.

You are right about dressing up, that Monday I was at a college type atmosphere. Tuesday at Lutz people were in suits there.

And yes, it is that bad in the states...
