How The Human Face Might Look In 100,000 Years

Quote:Quote:

We've come along way looks-wise from our homo sapien ancestors. Between 800,000 and 200,000 years ago, for instance, rapid changes in Earth climate coincided with a tripling in the size of the human brain and skull, leading to a flattening of the face. But how might the physiological features of human beings change in the future, especially as new, wearable technology like Google Glass change the way we use our bodies and faces? Artist and researcher Nickolay Lamm has partnered with a computational geneticist to research and illustrate what we might look like 20,000 years in the future, as well as 60,000 years and 100,000 years out. His full, eye-popping illustrations are at the bottom of this post.

Lamm says this is "one possible timeline," where, thanks to zygotic genome engineering technology, our future selves would have the ability to control human biology and human evolution in much the same way we control electrons today.

Lamm speaks of "wresting control" of the human form from natural evolution and bending human biology to suit our needs. The illustrations were inspired by conversations with Dr. Alan Kwan, who holds a PhD in computational genomics from Washington University.

Kwan based his predictions on what living environments might look like in the future, climate and technological advancements. One of the big changes will be a larger forehead, Kwan predicts - a feature that has already expanding since the 14th and 16th centuries. Scientists writing in the British Dental Journal have suggested that skull-measurement comparisons from that time show modern-day people have less prominent facial features but higher foreheads, and Kwan expects the human head to trend larger to accommodate a larger brain.

The disney eyes make sense, that usually bumps a girl 2-3 points for me at least. The thing is males are going to have to evolve countermeasures to offset the effeminate look of disney eye genes affecting both genders, probably exaggerated muscle mass or a cartoonishly v-shaped torso.

You can see this principle by comparing whites and asians. Whites have higher testosterone levels than asians, giving white females a more mannish appearance than asian females: larger noses, manjaws, stronger brow ridge, etc. Lucky for us racists, white females evolved countermeasures to keep them looking like females, primarily big doe eyes and light hair.

Yes.

Let us hand over the future of evolution to our dentists.

They are probably the most highly qualified to lead us into the new genetic utopia.

But on another note, this guy is bullshitting on a level on par with astrologers and tarot card readers and economists, and should be taken as seriously.

That's just goddamn scary.

But evolution doesn't always make logical sense. We may have our tails back in 100,000 years.

Yes- Faces will look more feminized and less predatory if men are let themselves be pushed off the map.

Those huge eyes are no doubt because of all the squinting at smartphones and clicking on pseudo-social "likes" all day long.

That pixelated Japanese porn doesn't help either.

This is of course assuming that any evolution is likely to take place at all in the absence of any naturally selective pressures, in our safe, warm, government-sheltered lifestyles.

If anything, devolution is more likely to take place, with the most degenerate members of society having more children.

Roosh linked to this 2006 article on twitter: Human Species May Split into Two

In the next 100,000 years the overclass and underclass could gradually separate into two distinct groups. It's not unreasonable sounding to me. And the large eyes in the Yahoo article would definitely be the overclass.

I don't see how this would work, the last 100 years humans have basically circumvented natural selection.

Nickolay Lamm, the researcher responsible for this study and those grotesque images, seems to have read H.G Wells' fine story 'The Time Traveller' a few times too many and simply stolen the idea of the countenance of the human of the future from the book. Eloi eating Morlock's anyone?
No?
Ok, i'll get my coat then.

The eyes are windows to the soul. Maybe he means we'll be deeper more spiritual beings instead of horny poosy-chasing players.

I think there will be a great separation of wealthy and poor people. All the wealthy will interbreed and evolve into new race. The poor will interbreed and become a second race. Dumber and more sexualized. Probably able to have multiple births at the same time.

Maybe alphas will evolve multiple dicks so they can bang multiple chicks with the same thrust.

It's impossible to circumvent natural selection. With an absence of environmental hazards, sexual selection should run rampant, most likely assisted by genetic engineering by parents who want perfect good-looking children. In this case natural selection is still operating, just that the standard of "fit" will be a cartoon-eyed elf with no immune system that everyone wants to fuck instead of our current "fit" standard being a morbidly obese hillbilly with an infant hanging by it's mouth from each titty, or alternately the standard 30k years ago of actually being strong and clever enough to survive and obtain food during an ice age while bereft of technology beyond pointed sticks.

When all of our resources run out, the huge eye people that rely on all of that technology are going to have a real hard time adapting. They better hope they've developed a way to steal resources from other planets by then

Im always amused when I read statements like this

It will never happen, simply because..wealthy guys will fuck poor , attractive women

This constant trading up for women and trading down for women has kept the gene pool less downsy since humans have existed
