In this Real Russia video (the second half) they interview the boss of a tv station in Russia. I noticed a few things:
She does come off as a bit brash and inconsiderate as many people with leadership positions tend to (answering her cell phone, barking some orders, then giving the half-assed "sorry" when she hangs up).
She speaks to the fact that many Russian women have to take on the roles of mother, wife, and worker and doesn't seem to have a chip on her shoulder about it. It sounds like she views it as normal to have to assume multiple roles in life to get what you want out of life.
What really stood out to me though was this: she doesn't balk at all at the interviewer's nervous comments about her being attractive. An American woman would at best pretend she didn't hear you and at worst she's reporting you to HR for this sort of comment.
