Dubai's door staff are very lax in general, its pretty much unheard of to get refused from most places unless you're in a giant group of lads or absolutely hammered. "couples only" is just them politely giving you a 'go away', its not common at all. The unfortunate problem you're having is most of the Dubai expat bars are very wary of letting any darker skinned customers in. Theres a very real danger of bars getting a rep as a low class place where the Pakistani labourers go if they do so, and so losing all their European/Aus/US white expat clientele.

I'd say try to dress as formal/preppy as you can. And if you've got any white friends to go in with that'll help massively.

I always go to Dubai alone.. so I guess I'll just avoid those racist venues altogether and save my money

just returned from Dubai. I'm 5'10 black-American, slim build, afro.

Day Game: didn't even try it. I went to Dubai to see the dentist for a root canal, so I didn't really enjoy my days too much.. I did go out at night though.

Night Game/Clubs: I really recommend the spots mentioned above. I had a great time at Stables on Monday night.. went again on a Wednesday night, seemed a lot more chill than Monday night though. I also went to a few other clubs with a Couchsurfing homie from Oman, but I was too drunk to remember the names. I do remember one club being nearby the Burj Al-Arab though, which was dope. They wouldn't let me and my homie in without some chicks, so we found two random Russian girls that got us in. Also beware of the pros, you should be able to spot them from a mile away.

Tinder Game: A LOT of pros. Also a lot of Filipinas and fake profiles too. I did manage to get one lay from Tinder though; a French girl living in Dubai for quite sometime.

I rented a Porsche 718 Boxster though, sweet ride. I really enjoyed riding around, even though I was by myself. It cost about 1000 AED/day, and I had to fill it up with 98 octane gas....
