I did ride an e-bike once and it was pretty cool. They run at like 40 km/h and recharge while you are paddling. You'll get some strange looks from the cars that you'll pass...

Pretty damn cool. Any idea how fast these things can go? The guy is passing all the traffic, he must be going at least 25-30. You mentioned flying under the radar to avoid a DUI. I wonder how they would go about handling that if a cop were to pull you over on the street. I feel since it has a motor they would try and pin you with the DUI, but if you turned the motor off as said you were only pedaling you would probably get that dropped. That Audi bike looks legit, also very expensive.

I'm shooting for 50 mph and if you look at the link I posted about the trail there's no cops on it but all the bars are close it's a straight shot to the beaches. I'm going electric for this reason

Nice! Denver is mad biker friendly and Colorado is full of trails. There's a trail that runs from Aspen to Denver, which is a 3 hour drive by car. This thing could be really useful here, and I don't think the cops would even bother you regardless if you were on the street, as long as you weren't biking like a belligerent asshole. How much should you be looking to drop if you wanted to pick one of these up?

Main problem is cost. The nice ones designed in the USA or Europe are gonna set you back ~$5000. Low end electric bicycles are a lot more common in Asia.

That's great! Next time you go there you can run some social circle game in the electric bike community. I'm sure the hottest girls will come running. Serious that's how you get upper quality girls.

In CA you can actually get a biking under the influence ticket. Don't know about other states. Paging Merenguero...

The worse your bike looks the better chance you have of getting a DUI . Run it sleek stealth mode the cops will give you a pass as usual.
I don't like fear on my threads. I'm not built that way and I'm here partially to make you all better people.

Ya know I should be the one at my age that worries. But I'm having fun and messing around with stupid shit all the time. What does this even mean? You guys need to put your fun first ans stop worrying all the time about getting busted.

Yeah you can get a BUI in Colorado too, pretty sure most states. I think around here though as long as you aren't being a chode they'll respect that you aren't driving a car and let you go. If you're really drunk, to the point you're a threat to others even on a bicycle, I could see them maybe giving you a BUI.
I honestly think a BUI is the most retarded thing I've ever heard of. You really want to take the incentive not to drive from drunks?
I'm also very curious as to why they started popping up. Maybe there was a small rash of pedestrian/drunk bicyclist accidents one year and MADD's collective panties got bunched.
