Radish Mag a reactionary blog

http://radishmag.wordpress.com/

A new manosphere blog that I have come across is called the Radish Mag. Its well written and has a very interesting format, where he compares older texts with current society. Its a reactionary ideology which he explains in his first post which seems anti democratic. He is also HBD, mentions it frequently, which is interesting to read however I don't put much stock in it myself. The biggest problems are that the posts can range from 7,000 words to 30,000 words long! You read that correctly too. He often posts entire chapters from the works he uses to describe a modern a problem.

The Orwell vs Huxley one is the 30,000 word one which is worth reading since it is a good read. Just prepare to take breaks and perhaps tylenol to read it. Speed reading can help.

He also did a decent post about Way of Man By Jack Donavan and also covered Fight Club as well in that article.

Radish takes on Feminism. This is huge at 14,000 words and adding more. But its worth reading. Less inflammatory than the other articles though. Well it would piss of feminist. And there are some attractive ones oddly. Katie Baker is foxy and Caitlan Moran when she was younger.

This is an excerpt from the article. There is much more, as it covers at least 3 aspects of feminsim, often using historical criticism which stand up today.

"Mr. Mencken, with wisdom from 1922:

Today, by the laws of most American states — laws proposed, in most cases, by maudlin and often notoriously extravagant agitators, and passerby sentimental orgy — all of the old rights of the husband have been converted into obligations. He no longer has any control over his wife’s property; she may devote its income to the family or she may squander that income upon idle follies, and he can do nothing. She has equal authority in regulating and disposing of the children, and in the case of infants, more than he. There is no law compelling her to do her share of the family labour: she may spend her whole time in cinema theatres or gadding about the shops an she will. She cannot be forced to perpetuate the family name if she does not want to. She cannot be attacked with masculine weapons, e.g., fists and firearms, when she makes an assault with feminine weapons, e.g., snuffling, invective and sabotage. Finally, no lawful penalty can be visited upon her if she fails absolutely, either deliberately or through mere incapacity, to keep the family habitat clean, the children in order, and the victuals eatable.

Now view the situation of the husband. The instant he submits to marriage, his wife obtains a large and inalienable share in his property, including all he may acquire in future; in most American states the minimum is one-third, and, failing children, one-half. He cannot dispose of his real estate without her consent; he cannot even deprive her of it by will. She may bring up his children carelessly and idiotically, cursing them with abominable manners and poisoning their nascent minds against him, and he has no redress. She may neglect her home, gossip and lounge about all day, put impossible food upon his table, steal his small change, pry into his private papers, hand over his home to the Periplaneta americana, accuse him falsely of preposterous adulteries, affront his friends, and lie about him to the neighbours — and he can do nothing. She may compromise his honour by indecent dressing, write letters to moving-picture actors, and expose him to ridicule by going into politics — and he is helpless.

Let him undertake the slightest rebellion, over and beyond mere rhetorical protest, and the whole force of the state comes down upon him. If he corrects her with the bastinado or locks her up, he is good for six months in jail. If he cuts off her revenues, he is incarcerated until he makes them good. And if he seeks surcease in flight, taking the children with him, he is pursued by the gendarmerie, brought back to his duties, and depicted in the public press as a scoundrelly kidnapper, fit only for the knout. In brief, she is under no legal necessity whatsoever to carry out her part of the compact at the altar of God, whereas he faces instant disgrace and punishment for the slightest failure to observe its last letter. For a few grave crimes of commission, true enough, she may be proceeded against. Open adultery is a recreation that is denied to her. She cannot poison her husband. She must not assault him with edged tools, or leave him altogether, or strip off her few remaining garments and go naked. But for the vastly more various and numerous crimes of omission — and in sum they are more exasperating and intolerable than even overt felony — she cannot be brought to book at all.

The scene I depict is American, but it will soon extend its horrors to all Protestant countries. The newly-enfranchised women of every one of them cherish long programs of what they call social improvement, and practically the whole of that improvement is based upon devices for augmenting their own relative autonomy and power. The English wife of tradition, so thoroughly a femme covert, is being displaced by a gadabout, truculent, irresponsible creature, full of strange new ideas about her rights, and strongly disinclined to submit to her husband’s authority, or to devote herself honestly to the upkeep of his house, or to bear him a biological sufficiency of heirs. And the German Hausfrau, once so innocently consecrated to Kirche, Küche und Kinder, is going the same way."

Radish is excellent. It is arguably the best offshoot of Moldbug's school of thought. Or, should I say the neo-Carlylean school of thought?

Note that Radish is the newsletter of The Thomas Carlyle Club for Young Reactionaries (Students Against a Democratic Society).

Until they meet in person and take purposeful action, they are nothing but another generation of keyboard jockeys. This isn't directed at Radish per se, but the reactionary sphere as a whole. Instead of crying about the 'cathedral,' let them form their own alternative institutions.

The online neoreactionary movement, as far as I can tell, is principally an Anglo movement. Yet the people they fetishize most are not Anglo -they're groups like Generation Identitaire, Vlaams Belang, perhaps Greece's Golden Dawn. I doubt Britain's BNP or the English Defence League is heavily peopled by Moldbug readers either. Love or hate these groups, they aren't just keyboard jockeys penning long bloated screeds on the internet.

What would they be able to accomplish in person? Probably nothing and would be marked. It would be hard to get jobs after that. The reactionaries are about as UN PC as you can get. They could get no traction as a political group besides maybe a small %.

Define "purposeful action". Are we talking about protesting? Forming a political party? Actual violence? Military coup?

Moldbug has written about this, and I agree with him. There's no need for action right now. You act when you're strong, not when you're weak. If you're weak, you try to become strong. How? You just spread the neo-Carlylean mental virus and you wait until you have installed a new "operating system" in the brains of the young elites who will eventually rule the country.

Once the military elites (e.g., West Point, Annapolis), business elites (e.g., Harvard, Stanford), and technology elites (e.g., MIT, Caltech) have been seduced, you have an actual chance of changing something. Just wait a few decades till the cadets become generals, and the college graduates become CEO's.

The cleanest way to win this game is to change the brains of the young and wait for everyone older to eventually die. No need for violence.

No, nothing violent. Protest stunts. Salons, book clubs, lectures. Even just forming friendships and relationships with like-minded people can incredibly strengthen resolve and commitment. Living an atomized lifestyle of a yuppie in all facets of your life save what you read online is good for nothing.

I was at a fair not too long ago where there were several stands promoting various beliefs, including a stand for Islam handing out free Korans. There's no reason reactionaries couldn't have their own stand. Is anyone trying their hand at that?

Can you imagine a lecture on neo-Carlylean thought? The message is explosive:

The past 250 years were a sequence of tragic mistakes. The French Revolution was a terrorist orgy. Feudalism works. Democracy is a joke. Equality is a biological impossibility. Liberals are religious fanatics. Conservatives are idiots, etc.

The fact is that neo-Carlylean thought offends almost everyone in today's West!

You could say the same about 'the red pill.' Yet sites like Return Of Kings and The Red Pill Reddit are growing quickly.

No one's going to listen if you never open your mouth.

In the past year, the "reactosphere" grew and consolidated quite a bit. Some even call it the Dark Enlightenment, and create graphs like this to visualize the many factions of the "reactosphere":

They put Roosh, Captain Capitalism, and In Mala Fide in there, in the masculinity cluster. Moldbug is in the political philosophy cluster. Roissy / Heartiste sort of serves as link connecting these two clusters. Many more clusters, though.

Another great article. Although it looks like he is not quite done it. Its a nice introduction to red pill concepts I think as well. The Free Northern blog he linked to was quite good as well.
