Im planning to go to Cuba this summer, and would like to rent a private place for all the obvious reasons. Only for a week, unfortunately. Anyone have the info on this? Would be for a few friends and myself.

Google is your friend!..Tons of websites you can book apartments in Cuba.
The caveat is that even if you do make a reservation, there is no guarantee that the place will be available when you arrive. In Cuba they don't have that mentality yet. If someone offers money right now - they will take it!
Do you know what part of Cuba you want to stay? Stay away from touristy places like Varadero.
The best strategy is just show up and ask a taxi driver to show you some "casa particulars". You should be paying no more than 30 CUC for a place no matter how many people are actually staying there.
You can ask anyone in Cuba to help you find a place or girls for that matter. Stay in one place for two nights, walk around and find some thing better maybe?
Hes looking at 30 CUC or so per person per room if in Havana and booking online. Otherwise 25 CUC per person if booking online per person. He will not find a legal place for 30 CUC or under for a group of guys anywhere on the island.
Outside Havana a private place doesn't mean you can bring girls back without registering. This will certainly not be allowed outside of Havana and trying to do so will be taken very seriously. Read, you will likely be brought into immigration and likely interrogated. You may cost the casa owner their house.

In Havana, if I rent a casa particular, do visitors still have to register?
Generally speaking no. Ask in advance.
