Full Year Student Exchange to Lund University… Fill me in + some insight

What up players,

Little vent sesh plus Q’s

I have been meaning to get around to this first post of mine. I have recently got accepted to go on a year abroad with my university and landed my first choice at Lund University. I am a sucker for blond hair and blue eyes, what can I say… As well as reasons related to my academics/traveling logistics.

I have thoroughly searched through this forum with regard to all things Sweden which helped me make my decision on where to exchange (in particular posts by Lander were helpful for anyone looking for some insight).

Now a little about myself! I am in my wee early 20’s and have some gaming experience under my belt. Most of it taking place on my university campus in Ontario. I am an outgoing person when it comes to pickup when I apply myself (gaining the mentality of “not giving any fucks”). My night game is pretty tight in terms of opening set/messing with the girls/getting numbers/kisses… However, as I have begun to learn with regard to my stomping grounds, numbers don’t mean shit, especially if you get them at a nightclub. You either get the lay that night (which I have difficulty with/maybe the girls?) or go home because everything is bound to flake regardless of the rapport built. House parties, you have some wiggle room, which I have had greater success, but not by much.

When it comes to day game, I like many others find it scary. I have done dozens more night approaches (w/o alcohol) when compared to my day approaches BUT have had much more success (lays/anything but) many times over when I did commit to day game. The rate of return is much higher in other words, as I am sure many of you have discovered. It is something I continue to work on and I am sure will benefit me in Sweden. I don’t know why I have this fear of stopping a girl and telling her she is cute, because the one and only time I have done it this year, it led to great sex, multiple times. Maybe it’s the cold.

As for my ascetics I am Caucasian, dark hair, 5’8 175lbs of fitness (bashful right?) and for that reason hold the girls I meet to a higher standard. My take on this is that (NOTE: this is just a mentality to get into the zone), I see myself as a 10, delivered from the gods and no girl is above me and if she cannot see value in me then I just move on. This is due to the fact that, the bitch of a cute girl one lusts for, must understand that, out there, there is an even cuter girl that won’t be a bitch to ones advances, even after golden game has been spit. Gaming is like a dance, if your partner is reluctant to tangle – find another, there are plenty.

Questions

Now my inquiries relate to game and lifestyle geared toward anyone that has visited Sweden or better yet studied near/around Lund.

1. What are the girls like? I have read and heard that they are friendly, well at least when compared to the girls I have dealt with. But at the same time their flirtation, is strictly only friendly. I have also learned that day game is clutch in terms of catching something of high value/success.

2. What are the dudes like? I have heard they are a bit beta. Good looking tall and all but when push comes to shove to pickup, they get bitch butterflies (i.e. staying together as a group of guys at the bar).

3. Social circle game? Learned that most lays do not come from the spontaneous pick up on the street or in class, but through built friendship circles.

4. High value girls, won’t necessarily just put out without commitment? Wondering if this is true, I am not opposed to dating, if the girl is your 10 why not right?

5. For those who have studied in Sweden, what’s a full course load like? I don’t want to have to be worrying about school all the time, when I can be out and about!

6. Lund residences, are they close or far from the campus? I am used to a 8 minute walk to campus.

7. Student Nations, explain. I have looked them up briefly, what are people’s experiences with them? And one in particular that is crazy fun? I would like to be involved at the university while meeting many people (good looking ladies). Socials? Fun stuff? Parties?

I look forward to this experience, I am sure being in a different country will help with my day game.

If I have any more I will be sure to post them! Thanks brahs.

All my best.

In stockholm they are friendly. If you're not blond tall and blue eyed, you will get some looks. But don't think you're exotic or something. There is no more exotic in Sweden. Day game is a great option. In Stockholm, on the T-bana (metro) you have lots of girls that are hot and never get approached.

2. What are the dudes like? I have heard they are a bit beta. Good looking tall and all but when push comes to shove to pickup, they get bitch butterflies (i.e. staying together as a group of guys at the bar).

Swedish guys I met/saw don't approach until they drunk(2in the morning), and they are the least aggressive people i have ever seen. If you cause trouble, they will not hesitate to call the police. Don't act tough, because a lot of dudes, even though they are "beta", are trained in some form of martial arts. They will try to cockblock you.

3. Social circle game? Learned that most lays do not come from the spontaneous pick up on the street or in class, but through built friendship circles.

Yes. Befriend some swedish guys/chicks and go party with them, be introduced. That's one of the best options if you're looking for a LTR.

4. High value girls, won’t necessarily just put out without commitment? Wondering if this is true, I am not opposed to dating, if the girl is your 10 why not right?

They all put out without commitment lol They just have to take care of their "status"

5. For those who have studied in Sweden, what’s a full course load like? I don’t want to have to be worrying about school all the time, when I can be out and about!

You have lots of group works and not that many exams. You will have time, don't worry.

6. Lund residences, are they close or far from the campus? I am used to a 8 minute walk to campus.

Googlemaps is your friend. In stockholm, residences are spread all over the city. I suppose the same in Lund. If its too far, get a bike. Transport systems are generally really good.

7. Student Nations, explain. I have looked them up briefly, what are people’s experiences with them? And one in particular that is crazy fun? I would like to be involved at the university while meeting many people (good looking ladies). Socials? Fun stuff? Parties?

No idea.

Just don't miss fridays and saturdays, where Svenssons are getting smashed. Generally pre-party at someones house/residence and of to a club/city. Be prepared to pay heavy for drinks. Half liter beer in a bar will be around 50SEK. Whiskeys, gins, rums and such are sold by the centiliter. and you will get raped.

Don't forget to buy alcohol beforehand. The stores that sell alcohol (System bolaget) close early on friday(i think and will be fucking packed) and saturday(3pm). If you travel to a cheap country like estonia, latvia, lithuania, poland or even germany, don't forget to take a few extra euros to buy alcohol. Yes, the difference is that much.
Go on the "Battle of the Seas" cruises. All the 2000 students will be drunk!

Thanks for your response WreckingBall! With regard to drinking out on the town, I usually only have a drink or two. I find being drunk and trying to spit game doesn't mesh.

The Battle of the Seas cruise, is that the one to Finland?

Finland, Estonia, Lithuania. It depends on what the organizers decide [Image: banana.gif]

Lucky you and be prepared for a good time.

1) - Girls - you will be blown away and they are better looking than Canadian girls.
2) - Dudes - they are chilled and have mad style, I think the beta tag is overplayed.
3) - Social Circle game - it exists but you will be fine.
4) - High Value girls - I am sure they are the same as high value girls in Canada. What do you have to offer?
5) - Workload - no idea
6) - no idea
7) - no idea

I will say you need to lower your expectations, but should be a good time.

Swedish girls will almost always give you a minute or two of your time. Dont waste this.

2. What are the dudes like? I have heard they are a bit beta. Good looking tall and all but when push comes to shove to pickup, they get bitch butterflies (i.e. staying together as a group of guys at the bar).

There is no hard answer to this. At the university level, yes the guys use their social circle more. Swedes in general are not as out going as guys from North America/ Australia/ UK. They play a different, yet highly effective game.

3. Social circle game? Learned that most lays do not come from the spontaneous pick up on the street or in class, but through built friendship circles.

Social circle is what Swedes are used to. Get into one as soon as you can. Game the group, so to speak.

4. High value girls, won’t necessarily just put out without commitment? Wondering if this is true, I am not opposed to dating, if the girl is your 10 why not right?

This was my experience. I dated a lot. I zoned in on what I was after and went for it, and it rarely failed me. The type of women I went for I enjoyed spending time with.

5. For those who have studied in Sweden, what’s a full course load like? I don’t want to have to be worrying about school all the time, when I can be out and about!

My situation was different. I was IKDC at LTH.

6. Lund residences, are they close or far from the campus? I am used to a 8 minute walk to campus.

Not likely for you if on exchange. Housing there is very tight. But the biking system there is amazing. Like freeways. Never more than a 10 minute pedal to the ends of town.

7. Student Nations, explain. I have looked them up briefly, what are people’s experiences with them? And one in particular that is crazy fun? I would like to be involved at the university while meeting many people (good looking ladies). Socials? Fun stuff? Parties?

I went to a few parties, but on the whole they were not my thing. Very tight groups for the most part. Most of the foreign students were part of Vastgota, which is known for hooking up. Again, low hanging fruit situation with bad ratios after midnight. Try Malmo nation. Tighter group but hotter, more classy women and the guys make good contacts.

Some photos of Malmo Nation.

Rent a car, go down to Germany buy lots of alcohol and bring it back to the universty. Sell it for less than what the system bolaget charge and you will make lots of friends, some money and have a good time on the trip

I did this. Although I did not rent a car. I had other, more economic (yet risky) ways.
Buy wine. I had almost a wasted trip to figure this out. Look:

750ml Havana Club €10 at Calle. Sold for €20. Minus expenses, not a bad profit. But, two to four guys show up and buy one bottle, maybe two. Say €40. Three times on a friday, four on a saturday. Not bad, but remember you are sitting on €400 of stock, and some hard liquor does not sell.
Wine on the other hand. Buy at Calle for €6-10, sell for €10-15. Less profit, but then your sales look different.
Four girls come by. Each buys a bottle. Maybe even five or six. Say €40-100. Have some cold ciders for a few € a can and your take home looks better, stock is sold evenly and there are rarely any leftovers.
I made a private Facebook page for my storefront. A central location to the big residences are key.

Thanks for the replies guys, I do appreciate it!

I am taking a look into the different nations now Malmo, does seem pretty tight.

Another question, with regard to help building social circles.

A great way to acquire groups of friends and what not is through extra curricular clubs and sports. Anyone have any first hand experience as to what they are like at Lund? Or what about picking up a job, bartending anyone?

The important thing at uni in Sweden, especially in Malmo/Lund is to escape the foreign students crowd.
They tend to form a clique mentality and be very segregated from the Swedes. Which is insane, because the Swedes can speak better English than most of the foreigners, therefore there's no reason to not hang out with them.

Also, re: Swedish guys, they appear beta but I think it's more complicated than that. I think they are totally complacent, they grew up in a land where a 9 can be serving you in a fast food restaurant, and a 10 can be sitting behind you in a dive bar. When there's such an over-supply of high-grade genetics, there's no reason to put in any extra effort to bag a particular one.
I think that's why the Swedes are so lackadaisical about all of the 3rd world refugees aggressively hitting on their women.

I did a semester at GBG a while back, this year I'm heading off to KTH in Stockholm for my Master's. If my average hasn't increased by at least one point on the ten-scale by the end of this, i should hang up my balls. [Image: blush.gif]

Escape the exchange crowd, seems like some sound advice. I believe with my housing I can be placed on a floor with sweds, which would be sweet, essentially playing on easy. Also getting involved with the school should lend a hand.

Hopefully I can improve my day game to snag all these beauties.

Question, I have a friend in Sweden, and he tends to rely on a dating site called Badoo, which is apparently big there. What's your take on it? IMO I think it is a waste of time (girls + internet = time sink) which could otherwise be much better spent chatting up a cute girl on the bus in real life.
