Will there be women in the future?

Looking at current trends do you think there will still be female humans in the distant future (for example, a few thousand years from now)? It seems to me that a female is just an inferior form of human (weaker, dumber, less creative, less productive, etc) whose existence is justified solely by their ability to provide children and sex. Trends suggest they will eventually no longer be needed for these functions and that through a combination of technological progress and voluntary individual choices the female of the species will die out.

1. Reproduction

Birth rates are rapidly falling as women refuse to reproduce. To the extent women are reproducing, it is increasingly an artificial process that takes place in a clinic and involves fertility treatments. Use of surrogates is also increasing. It is not difficult to imagine this trend continuing to the point where reproduction is performed entirely in an artificial womb at a reproductive clinic and parents are able to some extent design the genetics of their offspring.

To the extent people can control the sex of their children, a majority will choose to have boys (see China, India and any place that permits sex based abortion). So in the above scenario where reproduction has become a controlled process, we can expect men to become an increasing percentage of the population.

2. Sex

The press has already reported on men's decreasing interest in women (and even inability to perform sexually with real women) as they satisfy themselves through porn. If this is happening when men merely have access to pornographic images of women, how much interest will men have in real women once it become technologically possible to have fully simulated sexual experiences of endless variety with an endless number of perfect 10s?

It seems that these trends will result in women becoming increasingly marginalized and devalued and a gradually declining % of the population.

The above scenario assumes civilization is preserved and technology continues to progress. The alternative would be chaos and the restoration of patriarchy.
