I think the stereotype of American Black Women is a little off, at least in my experience on the West Coast. Out here we have some beautiful, feminine, intelligent but lady like black girls. The whole loud mouth ghetto chick is not so common out here. I have dated 15-20 "chocolate bunnies", and none of them were overly rude, materialistic, loud, masculine, or shady. (At least not anymore then the white/latin/asian girls i dated)
Out here, we know that the mainstream hip hop culture is a fake reality created by the record companies.
We don't try so hard to fit in to the mainstream ideas. If your Black and you wanna study yoga, become a chef, or a scientist, or a writer. We respect that. Trying to be a thug only makes you a "wanna-be". If your a real thug, people will see that and respect it.
I think the problem is that black women have had to deal with so much bullshit. Their confidence, creativity, and identity has suffered a bit.
Come to California, go to any major university, you will find plenty of Black Women that don't fit the stereotype.
I have even dated a few girls who were straight from Africa (Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria). These girls were sweet, soft, feminine, and charming. And they loved to please their man.
btw, I am not Black, I am Latino/White. I have been dating black girls since the 7th grade. I have swooped at least 10 and I have dated at least 20. I know this is a sensitive subject and i know we have alot of Black men on this forum. What I said is my personal opinion and it is based on my interactions with hundreds of Black women that i have met here in California.
