Belgrade in Winter - Trip Report

Just got back recently from a weekend trip in Belgrade with a buddy. Overall, I’m sad to say, we weren’t as successful as we would have liked to have been. But the women there are amazingly hot, and the people are very friendly. We flew Wizz Air, a discount airline (think RyanAir, but shittier). We arrived late , around Friday night and stayed until Monday afternoon. We had threw methods to meet girls: Couchsurfing meet-ups, day game, and of course, night game,

Couchsurfing meet-ups

Before the trip, I spammed dozens of women on Couchsurfing under the guise of an innocent drink meet-ups. I had surprisingly high response rates, ( compared to other Western Europe countries). However one hic-cup that did occur was that I ended up sending the same message to girls who knew each other. Somehow, a few of them must have talked to each other about the message they received. , and I was actually called out on this twice.,..however despite this , these same girls still agreed to meet. All in all, I had about 5 different options, and I set-up plans with three that seemed the hottest and most promising..
The advantages/disadvantages to an approach like are this obvious. On the positive side, we had meetups with fairly cute locals girls who were able to show us around and give us advice on Belgrade(great to have in a foreign land), however on the negative side, we were committing time to girls who we might not like. A second negative to this approach was that it does not do much to help our basic gaming..approaches, openers and the like…(it feels like cheating)
On the night we arrived, two of the girls were already sending SMS’s to meet-up that night. We ended up choosing the girls who were at the club closest to our apartment. They were at a place called Sugar Club, and is located two blocks from the Parliament building in central Belgrade:

Sugar Club,
17 Svetogorska,
Belgrade, serbia

It was very difficult to find. We used google maps to get close, but we still had to walk back and until we finally gave up and asked someone. It is off the main road in an alley, with no signs or anything to indicate there is a club there. Its probably best to just get close and ask someone hanging around at the nearby liquor store.
Inside, It was smoky (no smoking ban here) ,crowded and had music blaring loud . The crowd seemed younger, and had more of a hipster, bohemian vibe to it. There were a few decent girls , however they seemed to all be with their boyfriends. My buddy and I both agreed it would be a difficult place to game.
As for the couchsurfing girl, she was with two other friends, all fairly cute. However one thing I forgot to check beforehand was her age . . She was actually only 18, and still in high school. This was a little too young for me, and made me uncomfortable, so I backed off and didn’t push the interaction.

Unfortunately I didn’t really see any other girls to talk to, so I was stuck with her… My buddy on the other hand is only 26, so he had no problem working on the girl’s friends. We had a few beers and made some chit chat, but by then it was close to 3am. The girls had to be home. We didn’t attempt to push it any further . We talked about meeting up again the next night, but I wasn’t really interested.

On the second CS girl meeting, the plan was to meet a another girl from CS and one of her friends. We met at a Serbian restaurant:

Lorenzo & Kakalamba Cvijićeva 110 Vladetina,
Belgrade
http://www.lk.rs/eng.html

The restaurant was classy, well decorated, and would be a great place to bring a date to. The prices are low, and the food was typical Serbian, however it it didn’t have a lot of flavor. I’m not sure if this is just how Serbian food is though.

The girls showed up about 30 mins late. They had so-so faces, but their bodies were damn good. One plays basketball for her university, and had a nice ass and some long legs. All in all, the girls were pretty nice but nothing like the stunners we had been seeing around town. My buddy and I debated on ditching them after dinner, but I reasoned that we could always ditch them later in the club if we found better prospects there… I wanted to hedge my bets.
We left the restaurant and hopped onto a tram to a club called Mr. Stefan Braun Nemanjina 4/9, Belgrade 11000 http://www.mrstefanbraun.rs/
We go to the club around midnight. It was packed, full of amazing Serbian chicks and shady looking Serbian dudes. It’s described as the hottest club in Belgrade. Although I didn’t doubt this, I can’t say it was an enjoyable place. The music was mostly ear piercing techno shit. It was blasting so loud that conversation was all but impossible. The girl to guy ratio was good. The chicks there were amazing. However because of the ear piercing noise and potential language barrier, we didn’t feel like doing any approaches would have been productive. Another thing about this place..if the bar tender notices you are foreign, they might try to up-sell you on a round of shitty fruity absinthe shots.

After about 30 minutes of this torture, we realized that the girls we came with were our best bet for the evening. I told the girls that the music was too loud, and we should go somewhere more relaxed. They agreed. When we got outside, I then suggested instead of finding a different bar, we should just buy some beers and hang out at our apartment (I lied and promised we would behave like gentelmen). Back at the apartment, we sat around drinking some beer. It was hard to isolate at first, but eventually I was able to get mine up and give her a tour of my bedroom. I started kissing her, but she reminded me that I promised to be a gentleman. She then walked back out to the living room and joned the others. where My buddy didn’t have much luck with his either. She apparently had a boyfriend…..By around 3am, I realized it was a lost cause. We let the two girls sleep on the couches in the living room and went to bed.
On our last day there, I did meet up with the CS girl for a couple hours at a café, I made out with her some more afterwards, but that is sadly the most action I got on the trip

Day Game

We tried two different approaches with day game: on the street and in coffee shops. The most promising area appeared to be located in and around Repulik Square. There you will find a large pedestrian zone, with plenty of cute Serbian girls.
Unfortunately, approaches on the street were not that well received. It seems that most girls here are taught not to trust anyone approaching you on the street. Most would simply turn away from us whenever we approached. This happened multiple times, even when we were “innocently” asking for directions somewhere. However one spot worth mentioning is at the entrance of the pedestrian zone. Specifically this is the plaza at the opposite end of the fortress (Belgarde’s only touristy thing to do). In this area, we noticed that at any given time, girls would be standing waiting around for an extended period of time no reason. When we first noticed this, we thought that they were hookers. However after some prolonged observation, we realized this area serves as the square’s meeting point.-either for their boyfriend or other friends. This makes it an easy area for approaching because it has a high concentration girls with nothing to do, However after a few approaches, we realized that it can also be bad because their boyfriend might show up at any moment…
Overall we had some decent day game interactions, but we failed to escalate or take them anywhere. As mentioned above, Serbian women don’t seem to trust anyone on the street. ,…Or it could have been the weather ..(or we just suck) …but overall the This seemed to make it a little hard.
As for the coffee shops,. There are countless in this area. One that we liked is in the Republic square area At any given time there seemed to be a dozen stunners inside:
Coffee Houss, 3 DJURE JAKSICA, 11102, Belgrade

Night game

Other than the two places above, we went to one other place:
Kasina Bar
Terazije 25
11000 Belgrade, Serbia
Phone: +381 65 2630050
Website: http://www.kasinabar.com

This place was recommended to us by some girls that we day gamed. We went there at 9pm on a Sunday night, and weren’t expecting much. It was quiet, but were still impressed by the quality at some tables scattered around. By 11pm the it picked when a Serbian pop band started playing.. We approached two 30 something Serbian chicks. Things went well, but we fucked it up it after being caught in a lie by about what we did for work. It was my idea to say we came to Serbia every couple weeks for our work. A completely unnecessary lie, hbut in my defense, I was drunk and it seemed like a good idea at the time. After that blowout, I don’t think we had any approaches left in us. It had been a long weekend, and we were both tired and drunk…But there seemed to be plenty of more opportunities around

Although we barely touched on the nightlife in Belgrade, its safe to say that I prefer the chill bars over the hyped up house music night clubs. One thing to be aware of is that if you do want to go out on Friday or Saturday, you might need a reservation. At Mr. Stefan Braun, we got ours by contacting the dude at http://belgradeatnight.com/. He did try to offer us a VIP packager for €250… (which seemed cool even with the high price tag) but we declined, and he still got us reservations..

Some final thoughts on Belgrade in the Winter…. I’m sure without a doubt it is better in the summer. There isn’t much to see or do. I didn’t like the food, and it is kind of an ugly city. I wouldn’t spend more than a 3 days at a time there (in the winter). On the positive side, the people are super friendly. I didn’t feel like a tourist at all (I did not see any other Americans there). The women are god awful hot (even the ugly ones are doable). And the city is very cheap. We got a sweet 2BR in the city center for €40/night. .and I don’t think I spent more than €150 total on meals and incidentals…

I would go again- even in the winter - however it sounds like summer is the time to go. I’m planning the next trip already.

Joy.
Actually very useful to know that you tried all routes there.
Can I ask what is it that makes you want to go back? Do you have a score to settle? I get that.

I also can't stand super clubs and won't even bother wasting my time unless it's mid week and I know it will be half empty and a bit more subdued. Definitely made the right choice to bail. But overall I'd say a weekend is definitely not enough time for somewhere which has quite a reputation for being hard.

Don't be fooled into thinking summer is better in Europe. June/July/Aug means more tourists, no students and locals hitting the coast or family homes. This is pretty standard all over Europe including Russia. London, Berlin and Paris I believe to be safe bets in these summer months.

Did you discover any intimate clubs/bars that are better for mingling?

As a visitor of Belgrade Nov 2010, my local connections said summer is typically better there (perhaps they just like it more for the patio/outdoor culture during that time). They did also say it's more hopping as people like to sun tan on the river beaches, etc too.

As for visiting Europe summer time overall, I'm not really as big of a fan. Typical 6-900 ticket prices from the US often become 1400-2000+ not to mention many people are on vacation hitting up vacation towns as you get a watered down version of European cities that have a more vibrant local scene rest of the calendar year. So I agree completely with ya there.

Exactly...I failed, and I need to try, try again until I succeed. I won't give up till I bang a Serbian stunner.

On our last day, we did briefly stop at an Irish pub in the republic square area. It was day time, so it was hard to tell what it was like at night..but it did look like a good mingling place. I am sure there are more though..they just might not be easy to find..

I live in Europe so it won't be so bad... But if I did live in the States, I would not come to Europe. For the most part, yes it gets crowded. But the month to really avoid is August, when everyone takes holiday. My favorite month to travel here is May. The weather is good, and there aren't as many people...

We had failed to isolate/escalate much with them...and because of the late hour , and their lack of hotness (although both were highly doable) I wasn't willing to try that hard. My buddy did get up after about 15 minutes to try to get his girl in bed..total creep move lol... but she turned him down...

True. I also like early June to late June as well since the big party university goers don't really leave for a vacation till July it seems. Issue with that is plane tickets to Europe from US go up big time during that period as well.

Summer is a horrible time to be in most Euro cities, truth be told. I live here, and actually stopped going on vakay in summer. I've been in Belgrade in summer. You have the splav parties and whatnot and I did end up meeting a cool girl. I suppose it could be aiight, but I'd def recommend late spring. You'll have all the girls in a good mood just after winter, and no competition from the tons of bozo guys who will be there in the summer.
