Does anyone have web or book resources recommendations on SEO?

I'm interested in starting a few web businesses so I have heard that SEO is essential for organic growth.

Any Ideas? Thoughts on SEO?

Start off with twitter and fbook, and then expand from there. Reddit, comments on other blogs, etc etc.....

The most respected resource in SEO is probably SEOMoz.org. Start there. For broader internet marketing: Inbound.org.

It's easier right now to get a video to the front page of google then to get a website to the front page. That is the kind of seo you need to look into.

Don't comment on blogs to get links or try to get links from reddit.

Social matters to a certain degree, but mostly in local markets where you want to push an organic listing above a maps listing. Then you get technical with schema implementation, geo-specific co-citations, etc.

The only SEO book you'll need is WordPress 3 search engine optimization. It's the best SEO book, even if you're website isn't in WordPress.
