How to develop a huge and beauty torso and back

First thing I noticed in the video is that is muscle shape/composition looked odd. After watching the excesses he did it then made sense and then I realized Im to used too seeing gym sculpted physiques that pump up area like the lats and traps. He is doing more classic movements and maybe this is humans are supposed to look like at peak versus the Gym bubbles we sculpt out.

My buddy did exclusively pull-ups and push-ups for a year and now it's still about 70% of what he does. He for sure has out in side and strength, it's only his diet that keeps him back as he only eats fish for animal proteins.

My lats exploded about one week after starting pullups. It makes a difference very quickly. Also, my posture improved within a couple of days.

For more of a challenge, grab one wrist with the other, and pull up like that. I'm working towards one arm pullups.

Similarly, to work one side more than the other, loop a towel around your bar and hold that in one hand.

I did the Armstrong routine, but it basically requires you do that and just that (plus push-ups) forthe upper-body work.

I thought it sucked a hairy ass-hole, so now I'm going to just do weighted pull-ups and build up strength rather than endurance.

A year from now you'll wish you started today

I struggled with pullups for a year and a half, it took me about 8 months just to be able to do one, and at the end of the year and a half I could barely do 2. My routine included negatives and asking someone to assist me on my pullups. My progress was so slow that I gave up on pullups and decided to do Pendlay Rows instead. I actually only started developing lats once I started with Pendlay Rows. The nice thing about the Rows is that one can start on a lower weight and start making newbie gains rather than suffering because one can't pull one's own body weight.

From the article I linked to:
"There is no doubt that Pendlay Rows performed as I describe them will activate the lats more completely than done any other way I have ever seen."
(Note: Pendlay specifically talks about barbell training, he's not including pullups in his discussion.)

I still have a vague future plan to start pullups again in the future, but I want to first be able to Pendley Row something nearer to my body weight. I'm guessing that the strength from the row will transfer somewhat to my pullup and then I can make real progress rather than putting an enormous amount of work for trivial gains.

I would rather look like this guy than a bodybuilder. I think most women would also find this look better than a bodybuilder. And this is probably much more functional and not reducing flexibility.

I have been doing pull ups and push ups everyday for the last 20 years. These things will work your muscles and keep them firm. But, THEY WILL NOT MAKE YOU "HUGE". THE ONLY WAY TO GET HUGE IS TO LIFE HUGE WEIGHTS AND EAT HUGE AMOUNTS OF PROTEIN.

That said, body-weight exercises are great for general fitness and as part of a weigh lifting program. But, if you wanna get huge, there are better things to do. Like, weighted pull ups, etc.

Pull ups will not make your back huge. They are a fundamental part of the exercises that should be recommended to build a well rounded physique, but them alone will not do it.

Your back consists of so many different muscles that should be worked to develop, what could be described as a huge back. As most people aren't able to see their own back, you will see a lot of underdeveloped backs, as opposed to fronts in gyms all over the world. If you would like to build a huge back, as always, stick to basics. Do heavy deadlifts, bent over rows, a variety of pull ups and train your rear delts. What most people is missing in their back-training is the connection to the actual back-muscles. They throw on way to much weight, on any other exercise than the deadlift(where it is actually needed, once you know the technique) and then the use momentum on pull ups, momentum on rows etc. Slow down, start the motion by retracting your shoulder-blades and use your back-muscles to move the weight, not momentum or your arms - they should only act as hooks.

Note to his physique: Judged by the picture of his back on that video, and his front - he looks quite front-dominant to me, so trying to sell a message of building a huge back by not living up to it himself, seems a bit off to me.

If this is bar starz then he probably got a lot of his swoleage doing stuff like front levers and human flags.

Do some deadlifts, squats, and olympic lifts. Throw some rows and heavy shrugs in there for good measure.

But girls don't like guys who look like that, and he is probably super inflexible. IMO should do more ballet training a la Ryan Gosling.

Actually Olympic weigh lifters are some of the most flexible people out there. As far as what girls like,I say eff that, train for the physique YOU like and let the chips fall where they may.

The guy in the pullup video has an ok/lean physique (I guess) but I dont think he looks particularly strong. His back is not huge by any means and he has skinny legs.

Lifting weights makes you bulky and inflexible. You just end up looking like a meat head, and girls don't like that. Ballet is the way to go. Ryan Gosling does ballet and he is super ripped and gets tons of chicks.

Probably has a bit more to do with being a movie star than his reasonable looking body.
