I need VEGAS help for bachelor party...

Men,

My friend is unfortunately getting married, and I am the best man. I haven't been to Vegas in about 10 years.

A) What is the best hotel suite?

B) Best clubs? I know they change in Vegas all the time, so I didn't want to just look at the old forum posts.

I was looking online today at work, and I was feeling the Hard Rock. Is that a good choice?

Power out!

1. Suite at the Cosmo with the terrace.
2. XS.

Hope you have unlimited money if you are to do the above!

Hard rock is about 4 years out of the loop.

Depends on a) how much scratch you want to throw down and b) what type of vibe you guys are looking for. I've been best man four times now and after going to twice as many bachelor parties in Vegas, it seems like people fall into either high end or mid range. I'm going to assume it's for 6-8 guys:

For high end, the 2 room skylofts at MGM are a good choice. Huge space, personal butler, pickup at the airport with a Maybach or Bentley, all kinds of ridiculous stuff in the room, and it's not as expensive as you would think, $1500-$1800 a night depending on dates. Can sometimes significantly lower the cost and get more freebies included if you go through Virtuoso or Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts if one of you has an Amex Platinum card.

If you want to save a little money, the 2 bedroom suites at Planet Hollywood are actually quite decent, very sizable and I believe they run $800-$1000 a night. It doesn't have the "wow" factor of the Skylofts, but if your game is strong, I don't see why you can't overcome that. Hardrock has a similar vibe to PH, but it's definitely a little trashier. Never stayed at a suite there, but remember paying $29 for a room once.

As for clubs, I still think that Steve Wynn's joints have the lock for best overall talent and decor. XS and Surrender are where the hottest girls seem to congregate. Lots of people like Marquee, and even though they book the best EDM talent, I can't stand their setup inside. All kinds of stairs and funky little "rooms" with different DJ's.

For obvious reasons, clubs greatly prefer bachelorette parties to bachelor parties, so you're either going to have to go with one of those "$80 per person gets everyone to the front of the line" services or pay $600 per bottle with a $2k-$3k table minimum to get some real estate to sit at. I think that's just a ridiculous waste of money so I like to get to the club right when it opens, pay the stupid entry fee and then get my hand stamped and come back after gambling or eating, usually after midnight.

Also, if you're rolling with multiple guys, call the gentlemen's clubs directly. They'll send a limo for you for free and waive your entrance fees if you bring more than 6 people or so. It's always an old ass limo but it's hard to criticize a free ride and admission.

I seem to recall reading that MikeCF and Fisto were locals there. Them and other residents probably know all about this shit way more than I do, but that's my two cents.

If you don't want to do bottles, get tickets at WantTickets to get into clubs. Don't have to wait in the general lines and they work well. I'd recommend getting a table though if you're in a bachelor party. Figure one bottle per three guys minimum, higher if you want a "better" table location. If you don't necessarily need the "hottest club" in town, I've never not had a good time at LAVO.

Good shit Booshala, so skip the Hard Rock? I heard they have a good pool party, or is that the MGM?

I'm not paying for that bottle service, biggest waste of money ever. I got about 15 guys from Brooklyn, we are pregamers.....

I'm trying to convince the groom to go Memorial Day weekend, but he is looking at a weekend in June also....

Don't go MDW, you'll never get in anywhere good with 15 guys and no bottles. Actually, most weekends you won't get anywhere at all rolling that deep. Your choices are basically get bottles or hang out at the bar/lounges at casinos.

If it's a couple hundred per person per night, then no problem. Nothing crazy.

I'm assuming memorial day weekend its packed, where are the best pool?

1. Encore Beach
2. Wet Republic

MDW and LDW are WAAY too crowded in a bad way. I've done it a few times and its a hassle to do anything.

Memorial day weekend, with 15 dudes you're looking at 5K+ to party at a decent club (day and night club). Yes you can probably go general admission for 100-200 per person but that's a lame bachelor party. Either way you'll be spending a lot of cash to have a decent time. I would suggest heading to a strip club instead, you'll probably have a lot more fun there with 14 other dudes.

If you're stuck on going to a night club I would suggest Marquee at Cosmopolitan and XS at Encore. Pool parties: Wet Republic, I don't really care for Encore Beach club, but it's decent. It's where the best talent is. This from a seasoned Vegas veteran.

Booshala is on point for what you're going to deal with.

You don't know anyone and a bunch of meatheads from NYC are not getting in on MDW unless you grease for a "line pass" which will be about 80 bucks then pay in upwards of 200 to get into the club.

GIRLS were paying 150 apiece to get into XS last year.

Do not come memorial day weekend if you guys are having money issues. You'll be pissed and you'll be broke after 1 or 2 nights. You'll have spent around 300 bucks just to get inside, then be paying 12-18 bucks for a drink.

The Hard Rock is fine. They've got Body English back open and it's a cool vibe overall, hit or miss with talant. It's a little away from the main strip so you will be paying extra for cabbies to take you to pools/clubs but it isn't "uncool" to say you're staying at the HR. Don't go to Rehab (pool party at HR) it's beyond fucking trashy, it's going to be hard to get into (again girls pay too) and to me it sucks.
1st tier clubs Marquee, Surrender, XS, and lesser but not second tier Pure, Tao,
2nd tier clubs that are still cool are Lavo, The Act (good friend runs the show there), Body English, whatever is inside planet hollywood

Wet Republic@ MGM, Marquee Dayclub, Encore Bch Club, are always fun.

In my opinion there is zero advantage to going to Las Vegas on holiday or "big" weekends.

It just makes it harder to operate. Not to mention a host of other disadvantages.

Give me Las Vegas on a regular Tues-Thurs night.

Or a regular Fri-Sat.

do your bachelor party dinner at STK. or Del Frisco's double eagle (not as good as a party spot but its solid and memorable).

Have you been?

I have always wanted to go but never have got it into my Mix (and I don't mean Mixx from on here or Mix Lounge - Mandalay Bay, either).

What's it like?

Its pretty old school. White table cloths type of place without being too fancy great prime steaks, probably some of the best I've had in Vegas. Great creamed spinach (which I always order with my steaks) Nostalgic kind of atmosphere without being too old or stuffy. Professional wait staff, not a bunch of college kids or 20 year olds trying to be VIP hosts like you get at other spots.

Went there on a bachelor party of about 10 people, got a big table and had a great time. Limo ride there after an afternoon at wet republic, then a limo to watch a Manny Paquiao fight (albeit on CC at the MGM) then out on the town after that.

I'm sure you've heard about their James Bond wine rack, that was pretty cool too. The Maitre'd took us all in the room and did the show for us after dinner.

I haven't been either.

Another good option for that kind of atmosphere is Goodman's Broads, Booze, and Beef

Yeah the pool party at Hard Rock is called "Rehab". It's pretty gross: I've seen people pissing, throwing up and yes, having sex inside of the pool... but if that sounds like something you're into, you should check it out.

As others have noted in this thread, any holiday is going to skyrocket the price. Pool parties usually open up around April or early May, so try to come on an off weekend then or in the middle of summer and the prices shouldn't be too terrible.

If you guys are on a budget though, don't even waste time at a pool party. Bottle service is even more of a necessity here than at the nighttime venues as girls are basically going to go where they can sit down and drink out of the sun.

Props back to Fisto for laying out the tiers of the clubs. I think he's spot on with the rankings, especially the 1.5th tier. Personally, I've had the most fun times at these like Tryst and Tao. Personally, I don't really dig the whole ice queen look that XS seems to attract in spades, and I've pulled a decent amount of really cute Asian girls at these 1.5's.

I went on labor day weekend two years ago and it was a grind being the chill, suave type as the hordes rolled in. You will have a dozen guys at all other times out-energizing you. You have to be ADHD hyper to be noticed.

I spoke to the groom today, and I think we are going to change it to a random 3-day weekend in may or june....I can't deal with lines.

Also, the MGM looks pretty nice. Somebody at work was telling me that if we book some suites then we skip the line/get in free to the Wet Republic??

Tao is in the MGM also right??

I looked on a map, and Hard Rock looks too far off the strip...

One day when we aren't drinking we might shoot some guns or something for a man trip...

Tao is in the Venetian. Its a little younger crowd and the dance floor is insanely crowded all night, there are several rooms and Tao Beach area upstairs if you're more into talking to girls. My favorite table to get there is in the Opium Room, right next to the stripper poles they have girls go on.

HAKKASAN will be open in the MGM by then, but its probably going to be the hottest place in town and I hear its quite expensive.

I did "The Gun Store" to fire some machine guns and shit like that....it was pretty fun to do, its off the strip but a great time. I did a sniper rifle because I didn't want to have a bruise on my shoulder from the AK 47 or whatever.

http://thegunstorelasvegas.com/

Also hit some golf balls at the driving range at Callaway, which was pretty chill too to do in the morning when we were all hungover.

Oh yeah, one thing they do have are "weekend wristbands" which are like $100 or $150. For the entire weekend (Thurs-Sunday) it gets you into Tao, Lavo and Tao Beach (although I think Tao Beach's pool party blows). You might want to look at that if you're not doing tables. Sunday is Lavo's best night IMO.

I'm going to miss Hakkasan. It sucks because a good friend of mine is the director of marketing.....

Bangkok will be worth it though.

Co-worker told me Fremont st or "old vegas" was an awesome ghetto pregame spot? Anyone know anything about this?

Its like a $25+ cab ride from the strip (or 20 minutes..more in traffic). It might be memorable though for the campy factor and it being a bach party.., but its all trailer trash out there and takes too long...you can get the same vibe at the Harrah's "Mardi Gras" village on the strip (although way smaller)

I like the Mob Museum as well as the Casino which was in Back to the Future II, for the photo op. Its just touristy middle american hell in my book though..

Hard Rock is over IMO it was way better 4-5 years ago, but unless you are partying there...wouldn't recommend. Vanity was REALLY REALLY ghetto the last time I went there (last summer)...on a sunday..and that used to be the best night (Sunday School).

I have had awesome times there and its used to be the coolest, but that's now the Cosmopolitan. Its been 2-3 years since I've stayed there...I prefer the older rooms that open up into the pool area versus the newer HRH tower that opened up. I actually stayed there Labor Day Weekend one year....it took me an hour and a half just to get the wristband to get into Rehab...and I was a guest of the hotel and that was the "short line" there..this was at 11am.

I'd stay at the MGM if its the summer/spring so you can go to Wet Republic and pull there...its a long walk back to the room though....MGM is huge (the MGM pool is actually surprisingly ok since its huge as well).

Hard Rock has pool logistics that are awesome though.........or used to I haven't been in a while..but you used to be able to just go up and down to your room at a whim during the pool parties. EASY to get girls to come back to your room, just have some booze or party favors to lure them there. You walk out the pool area...and you're right by the elevators (of the "original" hotel part...which is why its better). At wet republic to MGM, its like a 15 minute walk through the main pool and then through the walkway to the grand garden arena, etc...and its easy to get lost if you're not familiar with it.
