I just looked them up on Wikipedia. Says it's one of the top 3 low cost carriers in Europe.

I used to fly with Vueling (Madrid / Niza, Madrid / Barcelona, etc...) and no problem you can go ! It's very used in Spain and the prices are good. In my view it's better than Ryanair and easyjet.

vueling is legit, i flew with them from madrid to rome for like 20 euros. another thing to look into for traveling within spain is the "ave" train. lightning fast, but might actually be more expensive than flying. im pretty sure vueling flies cheap all the way east to moscow

Those prices are so cheap I'd curious what their business model is. It's hard to see how they could be turning a profit with prices that low. The jet fuel alone would seem to cost more than what they're collecting in fares.

No problem with Veuling whatsoever. Flew with them from Madrid to Ibiza last summer. You may have a challenge with the online booking - there were some issues with American credit cards, that myself and several others had. Required a couple of phone calls to get the card cleared.

They were also chronically under staffed at the airport, causing chaos at boarding, but whatever, it all worked out well...

They're legit. I flew Vueling from Barca to Granada and it was fine. I also encountered the credit card issue when trying to book online, so I just called them, spoke to some cute-sounding Spanish broad with good English, and it was good to go. They actually didn't charge my card for the ticket, but locked in the price for me and I just had to show up and pay for it before 2 hours until take off, which I did. I've never had another airline do that, and in retrospect it's probably not the best move, but it worked fine for me.

May is a pretty cheap time of year to travel in Spain as it's right in between their two busiest periods, so don't be weirded out by the low prices. All is good. But I didn't find the AVE train to be a very good option, both in terms of price and convenience.

I had an overall good experience with Vueling too.

One of my flights were delayed and they offered me a 20 euro discount ticket for future use.

Dont forget to factor in taxes, that will raise the final cost a bit.

Yeah, there are some credit card issue when reserving on their site. But same with some other Airlines in Europe.

Yes it is. Normal train is cheap though. High speed train is more expensive than Vueling.
Just take care with your luggage because I'm not sure how many Kgs you can take.
