Boxing. Fight of the decade

I just finished watching one of HBO's boxing series, Legendary Nights and wanted to sahre. This one covered the fight of Chavez Vs. Taylor-- a great fight. Here are the links so you guys can check it out. Very riveting stuff.

Just a great fight! Chavez makes me proud to have Mexican blood in me.

Don't get me started. That was an amazing fight.

Chavez is other worldly and Taylor was always one of my favorites of the unbelievable 1984 Olympic class (Pernell Whitaker, Evander Holyfield, Tyrell Biggs and Mark Breland. Virgil Hill, etc.)

I just read a great follow up article on Taylor: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/wr...index.html

Pretty sad. Our country really needs a safety net for its boxers.

Thats a great fucking show.

I am Mexican. I love JJC.

but that was bullshit.

Meldrick Taylor was a great champion who derserved more respect.

but ya, lets not get started.

back to the honeys!

No doubt about Taylor being a great fighter. Respect all the way. It's really sad to see what happened to his life after the fight.

G and Giovonny,

I'm calling both of you out! So I have to ask, what did you think about the stopage? I'm kinda undecided about the matter but maybe I'm just biased. But seriously, the ref is not a time keeper and in a perfect world a ref would not care about the time. Then again, the man did stand back up.

It a tough call,

He got up, but he didn't give a verbal response when the ref asked him "are you okay", your supposed to look the ref in the eye and say "yes, im okay". He said nothing. He may have been "dazed/woosy/rubber legged/out on his feet". but pros fighters are almost "used to" fighting in this condition. He could have continued.

It just looks bad for the ref because there was only 5 seconds left.

I would have let him go. It was world title fight.

I was rooting for Chavez, but as a man and as a boxer, i gotta say:

BAD STOPPAGE.
