Must be a cultural thing in Thailand....seems to me the right time would be almost immediately after you showed interest. After you kissed and reached down to grab her pussy and found a penis....well it would be pretty easy to justify pounding the crap out of them. hahaha

Update: I took a long walk around Sukhumvit soi 3, soi 4 late last night, just looking at the typical sexpat establishments and freelancers. You are right.....seems like a non issue....I would never be interested in women that big.

Yeah....every guy that I know that was ever mugged in Cali was walking around at night after drinking or haled a cab from avenida sexta at night.

Another problem with my friend from Miami is he is not the type to hand over his wallet that easily which would cause things to escalate fast in a confrontation.

@Asaxon - RioNomad speaks the truth. You are being to paranoid about things. In my several years of living in BKK and traveling around Thailand I have never once been drugged or physically assaulted. But of course I am not taking the linebacker ladyboys of Nana home either. Just use some street smarts that you obviously have if you lived in Rio but try and relax, these girls are not all out to get you.

Do take some precaution with your hotel room. Go ahead and lock up your laptop/passport/money and things of value or at least hide them some where in the room. No one is going to physically beat you up, but you leave 5,000 baht laying on the table and it could be tempting. Just be wise.

Update: I met another online girl at the BTS station to go to the "river festival".
