Alpha and Beta

These words need to be retired from here. I think some newbies are seriously asking themselves if something is beta before they do it in real life. Its coming across that way in to many threads. I dont remember it being rhis bad when I first joined and dont know why it wont die.

It's only a natural by-product of this sort of 'community' and it should be expected. Same thing happened with the whole Mystery Method community and his followers, all you would ever hear about was 'negging' and 'HBwhatever'. A lot of people become 'social robots' because of communities/knowledge bases like this, they are so helpless that as soon as they find out about something that seems to work for many they imitate it as much as they can and lose sight of what's actually important.

See houston this thread would be alpha, but we're too small to be alpha. So we gotta get the stilts on and show these 6 foot kids hows it done.

But seriously, I think you can't be 100% of either side all of the time. Gotta find a balance between the two.

Nope.

Houston if you were Alpha (you're not, too short and Mex(both beta btw) you would reach thru the monitor and rip the keyboard away from the dudes here posting this all the time and beat them on the head with it.

I just wrote about this at my hormonal health blog -- alpha and beta are characteristics of BEHAVIORS, not necessarily of an individual.

A male who is all cock and no heart is not going to do as well with people (long term) as one who is mostly cock but has heart behaviors.

Also, we talk about the cocky "alpha female" but we never talk about the soft "beta female".

I agree, dump the terms.

Nope.

I agree 100% about this alpha/beta thing, its constant. I was holding off on my opinion of it for fear that it would seem anti-game, but it is what it is..

People need to be themselves and not put up any fronts. When I go to clubs and see cats who are trying to act "alpha", with these maddog looks on their faces and their trying to hard demeanor I laugh.

To be fair, I think many people use the term to denote just being a winner in life. As in its alpha to make bank, approach the women you want, etc.

The term alpha has lost its meaning on this forum since so many dudes have different opinions about what is "alpha"; however, the term beta still has meaning, at least when describing non-red pill dudes.

I barely found out what LMR means not to long ago. I don't like all these PUA terms. I've talked to Roosh and Tuth on Skype and they're banning people who use them starting tomorrow [Image: troll.gif] [Image: troll.gif] [Image: troll.gif]

@houston-I dont think that will be a very well recieved thing among members. Lots of us use those acronyms to quickly and shortly describe many of our experiences without having to spell out long complicated responses. However I do agree that their usefulness has been over abused and that the pros no longer outweigh the cons. In the end it may be the best course of action for the future of this forum.

Skype is very popular.

I think the alpha/beta thing is real.

The problem is that it gets over-applied because everyone wants an easy, black and white, cheap quick fix for their love lives.

Anyone who is new to the game will embrace the alpha/beta paradigm and try to see it wherever they can. This is the natural early stages of playerdom.

After a guy suffers from a blue-pill breakdown, he will be in a baby state, and can only digest the "baby food" version of game.

Yeah I think the Alpha/Beta has gotten a bit annoying. Is anyone else a little tired of the whole hamster thing too? Or is that just me

Complaining about the use of the words alpha and beta is definitely beta.

The whole Alpha and Beta thing is a load of shite in my eyes, personally I see it as all coming down to confidence. For example someone who is described as "beta" will always have little or no confidence and spends too much time worrying about what others think of him whereas "alpha" men have tonnes of confidence and do not give a fuck what anyone thinks.

It is often taken to pointless extremes and newbies lose themselves in it, yes, but I feel that Alpha/Beta distinction is one of the critical parts of the red pill. I don't recall ever thinking of people or actions in such terms in my youth, but looking back, it would have made a vast improvement to my understanding of the world.

We just need to be gentle with the terms.

You also may want to add that they are characteristics of BEHAVIORS from the viewpoint of a specific individual/group. Chuck Norris might qualify your actions differently than your local book club.

But generally "alphaness" in humans is about the ability to invoke and enjoy conflicting situations - the more, the better; it is basically someone who is trying to pick up every fight possible. Comes packed with a bunch of other things such as paranoia ("everyone tries to steal my rank"), low life expectancy and general discomfort with their being.
