The backpackers are even worse in Cambodia....glad to see other people share my distaste for these people who pride themselves on being so "open-minded" yet tend to be the most judgemental people around.
I run away when I see them all wearing their burlap sack/hemp pants and covered in patcholli oil to cover up there body odor....sad to say there is One other group worse than backpackers the holier than thou NGO's.....out to save the world!!!

I got tired of arguing with them, and now just resort to scare tactics. When they find out I work in warzones, they ugly judgmental self-righteous bullshit attitudes comes out. Then I get to play the ugly American and explain how napalm sticks to women and kids too.

What he said, the girls are more alive, more fire, better bodies, and I guess the language being attainable is a big plus. Any dolt should be able to become semi gringo fluent in spanish. Diversity in the women is nice too ranging from white to black to morena in between. And the women are better liars in Thailand. DR girls will talk back to you but still clean your house regardless.
Thanks. Can you guys clarify what you mean when you say the girls are more passionate and alive?
They are more initiate, want to talk about philosophy and politics with you or what?
Definitely no philosophy or politics, I think both ethnicity are equally ignorant of the outside world. What I mean is you are more likely to have a fight with them, and then have make up sex, shit like that. Dominicanas are more likely to challenge you, then you shut them up with your dick.

I've taken a look at tickets to Santo Domingo and they are like 600 dollars minimum year round now.
I went in 2010 and 2011 and I think I paid 350 max.
What the fuck gives? Did every man in the world book a flight after reading this thread or something?
Ali, Mech and Fisto should become ambassadors for DR. No joke.

Spirit Airlines - I paid $225 one way including all fees and baggage to Santiago. You can get slightly cheaper tickets too if you book a month ahead. I printed out an itenerary that looked kindof like I had a return ticket. But they never asked me for it at immigration.
Go to Spirit Airlines website
Also Skyscanner (click on "flexible" and "whole month" )
Spirit is cheap for south america too, Peru, colombia, nicaragua, etc.
Tightest seats ever on a plane though. And small planes easily affected by turbulence... not for queasy flyers. But I couldn't find a mention of any accident history, that's what counts to me. Unlike good old ValueJet which I used to take, that company was a joke, literally. Stewardesses would be cracking jokes about all the little things that would go wrong, intercom malfunctions, etc.. Jokes just made it much worse...

Delta and Jetblue have $180-200 one way tickets from JFK to Santiago/Santo Domingo (double that for round trip). Spirit (out of FLL) - $220 one way. 20-25% higher than a year ago but still not bad.

over a month in DR. Some observations so far:
3. There are some HOT women. Generally much better bodies than Thailand as far as curves, though Thailand had less overweight as I recall (been 10 years). Its not like every girl is that attractive here in DR, but plenty are.
No disagreement here. But why are the DR and Puerto Rican chicks in New York City so unremarkable/fat/ugly? I swear, 9/11 was the first time I saw more U.S. flags in New York than DR flags.
Anyway, it seems like Russian immigrants are hot, because they know their beauty can get them a good life here. In contrast, it seems like New York attracts the ghetto New-Yoricans. Like, Rosie Perez is the best they offer.

I flew Spirit last time. Flights in Dec are for like 600.

There's a lot of tour groups that go there now to retrace our steps. Rover an patron are the tour guides. The evil driver sells hats and tshirts.
Just checked skyscanner. Looks like $600 is the standard. That sucks, but will help keep the hoards of thirsty simps out.

Yeah, I just looked at tickets for December out of Atlanta and they are 571 at the minimum with Spirit, the cheapest airline to the Caribbean.
I'm not even kidding. I really think you guys are the reason ticket prices have more than doubled.

I booked from Ft Lauderdale to Santa Domingo on Spirit Air from May 17 - May 20 for $280 round trip. So I guess there are deals if you book a month in advance.
btw ... I'm going down for a bachelor party with the boyz for a weekend. Is is worth there for a staying there over Miami for the rest of the week?
I've always done well in Florida, especially in West Palm beach & Ft Lauderale.
Thanks in advance.

Anybody has any info on the casinos there? I am taking a weekend trip within the next 30 days just to gamble and maybe a little smashing.
From what I've heard, the dominicans try to take the tourist. Signals across the table in all. Dealers are sometimes into it too. I wonder if any of us has experienced this.

Mexico is the same way. I use to get flights for 450 round trip and thats from a shit town that needs to hit a hub. I checked one way flights and 550 is the min. Its not fuel prices is it?
There was a joke. I think CK Louis said, " we complain about flying. You are flying your fat ass through a metal pipe. That is amazing."
