For me it means when age starts taking visibly unattractive and mostly irreversible tolls on face and body, which for most women doesn't seriously start to become noticeable until the mid to late 30s, regardless of whether the 22 year old version of a woman will obviously in nearly all cases look younger and prettier than her 32 year old self.
A 27 year old women who gains 30 kg hasn't hit the wall as far as I'm concerned (not thinking of the example above specifically, Amber Tamblyn is older than that anyway), she's just a slob. And it's a fixable issue if she has the willpower and inclination.
