Recommend me a new (used) phone

I need to buy a new phone. I like to buy them used, like last years model because chances are I will break it or lose it, so I'd like to keep it under $55 on ebay. Any recommendations?

I'm looking for something with either a QWERTY keypad or touchscreen, and not too big or too fat (something that can fit in my pocket unlike an iphone). All I use a phone for us calls and texting, no instagram or facebook shit.

What carrier do you use or are you going monthly PAYG?

Uh, a smaller smartphone than the iphone? Not much there in today's market. Try the low end HTCs or the Sony Ericsson X10 mini which is the world's smallest smartphone.

The s2 looks cool, but used it costs over $150!!! I break them too often to spend that.

Try finding Huawei phones. They produce cheap android phones. But I doubt you can find an android for 50 bucks unless you sign a contract with a carrier. You can try to find old Nokia smartphones (n95, n96...), I think you can find an used one for about $50.

Check out my thread Essential android tools for modern players and alphas to find out how to make your android phone your wingman, or click here and scroll down if you only need to root it.

Galaxy phones are supposed to be damn near indestructable. Was looking into getting one a while back, but never did for whatever reason. I'm interested in this topic, too.

Curious though, if you just use your phone for calls and texting, why the need for a smart phone?
