How to get better results with ebay?

I have a few items worth something, mostly coins/books, and when clearing out, found some more. I've posted all of them (20 items) on ebay, but sold hardly any.

Is there any resources on writing "copy" to sell small items like these, (silver dollars, some first editions, attendance on courses,) using ebay?, or any advice from experience?

Also, how can you keep an item high in search results once listed?

Any ideas? Ta.

Try driving external traffic to them from relevant forums and blogs.

Yeah you have to figure out some way of marketing them.
My buddy used to go pawn shops and they'd try to screw him out of so-and-such an antique, and he'd pull out his laptop and say "the last bidder says it's worth an extra thirty bucks higher than you quoted". He didn't make a lot of friends that way. He did sell one or two pretty nice pieces of china for a good price though.

I sell some electronics on ebay every now and then, and what I usually do is first is do a search on similar times by time ending soonest. I then see which ones have a lot of bids and try to copy their template on my posting.

For instance, sometimes I will notice that the items that receive a lot of bids have free shipping or extra pics or a detailed description or a very specific heading or a longer than usually bidding time period or etc...

Basically, my advice is to research similar items on ebay that have a lot of bids and copy their template.

Let's do some archeologism and revive this old thread.
I'm thinking about selling some stuff on ebay (Used premium clothes, some electronics, etc.).
Did anyone here had some consistent monetary gain from Ebay?
I'm talking about 100+ $ per month.
Did it take you a lot of time and energy to do that?

Thanks!
