Sorry for the thread bump. I thought this would be the best place to put some info on my experience during "High School Senior Week".
Background
I was in Cancun for the first week of June 2015. My research told me Krystal, Krystal Grand, Oasis, Grand Oasis, and Gran Caribe Real were where the grad week companies like to lodge the high school grads--basically the older, more economical all-inclusives. I did not see a single high school group from the United States during my week in Cancun, hitting the club district nightly and staying in two of the aforementioned resorts. Either I went a week too soon or allowing your 17-18 year old kids to go to Cancun with little supervision is no longer popular with parents. (I know I'd be worried my daughter would end up like Natalee Holloway.)
In fact, because it was hotter than hell and the off-season, about 70% of the tourists seemed to be from Latin America countries rather than the United States and Europe. There were tons of wealthy and middle class Mexicans from Mexico City. I also ran into a bunch of Argentines at one of the resorts.
Women
The silver lining to the trip was that there was a high school graduation trip from Mexico City. The girls were some of the whitest Mexicans I have seen (think Telemundo and Univision chicks). I actually thought one was from Ireland until she started speaking Spanish. They had no parents as chaperones, but the travel company had a few young adults that loosely supervised the group.
The people that work all of the service jobs in the Yucatan are darker and shorter Mexicans with presumably Mayan ancestry. These women were not too attractive except for the odd one that might have had more Spanish blood in them.
There were alot of couples: women on vacation with their husbands and boyfriends. Groups of single gringas were less common, but when I did come across them, they seemed DTF.
Logistics
Like others have said, it is difficult bringing in women from other resorts due to the all-inclusive nature of the hotels. I saw a few instances where guys pulled up in taxis with women they met in the clubs and were cock-blocked by security. Choose your hotel wisely and work with the hand you're dealt. Picking up at the discotecas is pointless. You can't even "get it in" inside a bathroom stall because those are swarming with drug dealers and junkies.
Bangs
I ended up fucking two gueras from the high school senior trip. It took several days of build-up and flirting. The main obstacle was isolating the females from the group. It seems most of the guys and girls were paired off as "high school sweethearts". The girls not on lockdown were always moving in groups as well. I was not able to get one alone up until this point. After drinking some Coors Light, Eva had to go to the washroom. I was left alone with Maria. I had been using the Spanish verbs in the wrong forms the past few days to their amusement, so I invited Maria up to my room to show her the Rosetta Stone, the shittiest language learning tool ever, which I have downloaded on my laptop. I pulled a caguama out of the mini fridge and we started drinking. Then I said it was hot in the room and took my shirt off. Finally, I just grabbed Maria and started making out with her. Tips
-The night clubs charge $50-75 for a wristband to get in. This includes a show and all you can drink alcohol. They come out way ahead because the alcohol is cheap crap, so you don't get your money's worth unless you can down 30-40 drinks. Some of the night clubs have a cheaper option where you can buy a different color wristband that gives you admission only. You can then use the cash bar. The free bar usually had a line, while the cash bar never had a line because most people don't know that is an option. The clubs don't advertise this second option because they make more money with the all-you-can-drink wristbands. The admission-only wristband works out cheaper if you only want to drink a couple beers.
-US dollars are accepted everywhere, but some places don't exchange them at the true exchange rate; you take a little discount as if dollars are inferior to pesos or something. Bring Mexican pesos from your bank at home or use your credit card if it has no foreign transaction fees. If you are too lazy and end up using dollars, they also are fussy about American bills that have tears or are too worn; they will not take them.
-Book your shuttle to and from the airport ahead of time. I prebooked SuperShuttle with some discount codes and it was only $9 each way. Some people who got off the plane and arranged for a shuttle on the spot were paying twice that.
Conclusion
I don't think I will ever return to Cancun. Once was enough. Prices are pretty much the same as the United States for things like a dinner or a t-shirt. These all-inclusive resorts and cruise ships attract the worst kind of tourists: people who want everything planned out and have no sense of adventure. Yes, I banged two 18 year old gueras, but everything else was lackluster other than the beautiful turquoise water and white sand beaches.
