Prostitution is Legal in Ontario?

I was definitely out of the country when this happened

http://www.ctvnews.ca/ontario-court-stri...s-1.557427

Any other Toronto/Ontarians remember this? I would love to roll it into comeback lines like "Prostitution is legal now you know, you can just take cash instead of free drinks"

This one is from March:

Considering the amount of golddiggers that Toronto attracts, combined with the workaholic atmosphere of most parts of the city, I think this is a logical thing to happen. They can't prevent it so they legalize it. Economic growth FTW.

Prostitution is Legal in Ontario?

Yes I can confirm that prostitution is legal.

Actually, prostitution used to always be legal in Canada. The illegal things were the whore houses, aka brothels. But they made that legal too.

The only thing illegal related to this subject is public solicitation. Basically whores can offer their services in the newspaper (true) but they can't be walking the streets and advertising their services.

Seems like this a natural reaction to a situation. Maybe the Toronto lizards will fix up their attitude. Instead of a dude wasting money on bottle service, some club pics and end up with a hard dick at the end of the night, he can shell out on a dirty piglet to enjoy for the night instead.

Sadly this will not change much.

Prostitution is Legal in Ontario?

Prostitution has always been legal...except for certain aspects of it...streetwalkers...communicating in public (ads in street newspaper boxes, calling an escort on your own phone to come to your place are not considered communicating in public...as long as noone can...see or hear you).

Outcalls have always been legal...Incalls (aka somewhat bordellos) are illegal. Though I believe it's not a high priority for Canadian police to raid Incalls unless there are complaints or the operation is very obvious (ie condos/apartments where the traffic/noise is noticeable and someone puts in a complaint). Though going to an escort's apartment is pretty common I think.

I don't think I would go much further with a P4P topic on this forum though...

This is not a P4P site, but like others have mentioned prostitution has been legal in Canada for a long time. But it is illegal to "live off the avails of prostitution". i.e. It is illegal to be a pimp or madam, but legal to be a prostitute.
