Using Idiomatic Phrazes in Spanish to make you sound smart and funny

A while back Roosh posted a story on his blog about going to purchase a lemon. The shopkeeper named a high price. Roosh replied with "Necesito consultir con el almohado" (not sure if thats 100% correct), which means "I need to consult with the pillow", and moved on to the next shop where he got a lower price.

We'll, here in Cordoba I've learned a few idiomatic expressions in Spanish, and the few times I've used them it gets a good laugh from the locals. They really dont expect it from a gringo with poor spanish. So I found a website with a list of them. I'm gonna learn as many as I can:

Good starting point but keep in mind that each country has its own way of saying the same English idiom. But yeah I do agree that locals get a kick of gringos using idioms. Check out the book called Streetwise Spanish. It tells you which countries the idioms apply.
