Will Smith The Keys To Life - Running and Reading.

Stumbled across this a couple years back. Always really hit hard with me. I replace running with Jiu Jitsu, but that's just me. I think many physically demanding activities could be used instead.

I attribute a lot of who I am today due to my ability to self educate through reading. Coming from a single parent home way below the poverty line, attending shit ass public schools, and a below average state college, I should be pretty stupid. Luckily, my mom got me a computer and internet at an early age, so I was able to educate myself.

He is onto something with running. When I was on the cross country team in high school and college and ran something like 60-100 miles a week, my confidence went up tons since daily I was forced to go on runs which were at the threshold of my ability and out of my comfort zone.

Doing things that push you out of your comfort zone have a very noticeable effect on your psyche, even if they don't have anything to do with women. It's almost like "Hey, I ran a 4:30 mile, talking to this girl is nothing compared to that"

Peak shape, peak game, that's what I think.

Loved this nugget of wisdom as well. However in my mind I substitute running with strength training.

That's some really good advice. I've always related going to the gym to overcoming problems in regular life. If you have a tough rep and you can overcome it when you are spent, you can take that victory and apply it to future problems. You can always go back and say "If I overcame that, then I can overcome this too." By setting up little chalenges that you can overcome, you can build the confidence required to defeat bigger problems.

Running is bad for your knees. I totally agree with reading a lot of books, though.

Will Smith has obi worked real hard in his life, but he doesn't really take chances. He turned down Django unchained for christ's sake. He's like the Big Mac of actors.

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

physical excercise and educating yourself. Easy to forget, but so important.

I'm a bit cranky now, so I feel like sharing this.

I have friend that slowly is growing more lazy and irritated.

He saw me doing some push ups and commented on my my form. I asked him when was the last time he worked out. Almost a year. I was on my last set of day 3 week 4, 100 push ups challenge.

We were discussing something the other day, and I told him a fact about it. He then said that I read too much. Also that he didn't believe it. I asked hime why. Because he hadn't heard it before.

He was in a cranky mood that morning though, I'll give him that.

It's funny when someone criticises you about something thats positive, says alot about their character.

I'm guilty of being critical of people a lot. I went to the gym with my buddy. He hopped on the elliptical while I hid the weights for a half hour.

There's no point to criticism, either. People are just going to resent you for it.

He's right about reading and exercise, but that's all really a no-shit-Sherlock kind of an observation. Of course you need to read, learn, and exercise. He's also married to Jada Pinkett-Smith. I've never really been impressed with the guy.
