Sexy Background Music??

What are some good artists for a player to have playing in the background in your room, car, hotel room, etc?

I recently was listening to Nikka Costa's channel, and was struck by how good her music is and would be great to have playing in the background.

I'm thinking stuff like Chris Isaak, D'Angelo, Amy Winehouse, etc. Music with some edge and mystery that dance music just doesn't provide...

Any recommendations? (I think stuff like Al Green/Barry White is just too obvious.)

fuckmusic.fm should serve well. Playlists for before during and after sex.

Check out Cafe Del Mar for room background music.

In a car the mood is different, at least for me. Some nice old school rock (Zep, Skynrd, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam) works great for me.

It's british electronic msuic. Ever hear any Portishead? Quite similiar in sound. You probably heard this from them, quite a famous track

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7K72X4eo_s

If you want something really mellow... I have this on a lot

it's from an album called noir by blue sky black death. I'm sure I've had it on 30 times and I still can't tell where one track starts and another ends, it's that subtle. It just all meshes into each other and stays in the background.

I don't like those other links you put up but Massive Attack sounds good. Do you have a link for their cd(s)?? I would love to play them on a good system. PM me if you want to.

The latest Washed Out album from beginning to end is pure sex:

I think youtube must have raised their limit on video length. I'm now seeing a lot of people putting up their own mood mixes. Some of these could be good. Dig around though on the right hand column and there's plenty of stuff you could put on as background music if a girl is over. Here's a few that could work out well:

The new Frank Ocean is good too, would mix well in a playlist with The Weeknd.

It depends on my mood. But energetic, rhythmic indie music is usually a good way to go. Check out bands like Broken Social Scene, Feist, The Kings of Convenience, The Whitest Boy Alive, Sigor Ros...

A lot of great suggestions here. In my (limited) experience I've noticed that sometimes a females red flags can go off if, whilst in the process of closing, sensual music is turned on. I've often had women ask me "why did you turn on baby making music?" (shit test) I generally like to have a playlist that starts neutral enough that then smoothly transitions into "baby making music;" For the latter I Love Pretty Lights.

All of his music can be found for free on his website here: http://www.prettylightsmusic.com/

I personally recommend Filling up the skies

Exactly! Because women want to feel like sex wasn't planned in advance but that it "just happened". If she finds out you went through the trouble of making a playlist to get her in the mood that pussy is going to dry up on the spot. Dumb, but that's reality.

To that end, I think jazz can be really good, it's got enough enough energy to not seem like obvious baby making music, but it's not a distraction if things get physical. Flamenco or some other type of Spanish guitar music is really good like that too.

Its funny that you both should say that, because I have been conducting a little social experiment lately. 4 months ago, a friend and I had this exact same conversation because I had a PYT over, and some D'Angelo happened to come one. She pulled away, asked if i had planned that out, and was frigid for the remainder of the evening. Talking to my friend about it, he replayed that the same thing had happened to him on several occasions. Trying to find the common thread between all of them, i realized that all of our "odd reactions and looks" had happened while male singers were singing. I thus devised my experiment. I made 3 different playlist, one with male singers, one with female, and one with just instruments. Over the next 30 girls at random, I played one playlist for ten, the second for another, and the third for the other ten. For the girls listening to the male only playlist, I closed 4/10, but 7 of them mentioned the music negatively at some point. Of the all female playlist, I closed 8/10, but only one mentioned the playlist, and it was in a very positive way. Her exact words were " this song for some reason is getting me antsy in the pantsy". Of the final group with only instrumentals, I closed 5/10, two mentioned the music, but both while positive, had no sexual effect on the evening. Now throwing out the outliers of the girls i didn't close, 3 were on their period and one was waiting on her boyfriend to get back from the movies with his friends, and assuming that both the girls interest in me, and my game were relatively constant across the board, one could draw the conclusion that women respond better to music when its other women singing. Maybe on a deep subconscious level, they feel more comfortable when hearing another woman's voice.

Fascinating. If I was a retired multimillionaire, I'd be giving grants to dudes to study shit like this in the field.

I think that, we as men, confuse sex with sexy. A dude singing about sex does not inherently provide a sexy mood, and comes across as corny and make you look like a try hard. Sultry female jazz, soul, and R&B seem to be the way to go. TLC's Crazy, Sexy, Cool album works wonders.

I forgot to mention the song in question. It was 7 Zero's In the Waiting Line.

I get your point Rttnkd84 I do believe however that Trey Songz' music has somehow a soothing/ relaxing vibe and is good to set the mood, even though he's talking about banging some chick's brains out which could be interpreted as lame

In my opinion must of the new age / chill out / whatever stuff that some people listen are very boring, even during sex.
I'm sure a lot of girls will prefer club music or rock music as a soundtrack to a nice sex session.
just my 2 cents, anyway

Her pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola...

Sade. She has such a beautiful voice and I wouldn't even want to stick my dick in a girl who can't appreciate her baby making music.
