I'm stationed in Korea and I've been planning to take my mid-tour leave in Thailand. Anyway, I was chatting with this American girl on skype and I mentioned my trip.

What's the first thing she says? She brings up the sex trade. Only disgusting men go there to take advantage of impoverished young girls, she says. Roosh talks about the hostility American girls exhibit toward American men who go abroad, but here it was staring me in the face.

Funny isn't it. People I know when I tell them I've been to Thailand try and tell me that all the girls there are prostitutes or only after my passport / money. Never mind that I've been there, they know better.

Americans are the some of the least informed people about other countries. They will automatically assume foreign countries are full of prostitutes and nothing but prostitutes.

Now, I work in a corporate job full of types who would make the same assumption about women from outside the USA. The best thing that you can do is say that's not why you are traveling, and play up the cultural aspects of why you are traveling. Take offense if anyone would accuse you of going there for the women.

Also, don't bother sharing with anyone stories about picking up foreign women. Most Americans can't and won't make the distinction between a willing and eager foreign girl vs. a prostitute. If you tell anyone you picked up a foreign girl, they'll likely tell the story you are hitting up third world brothels.

Just go to foreign countries, and play up the cultural reasons for your travel. And then in the mean team enjoy the pleasures of foriegn women and real intimacy that Ameristupids will never be able to know or understand.

I lived there nearly 5 years and people here in Cali still tell me that - as if they're warning me or something (still trying to think up a good smart ass reply). Awesome to get advice from someone who's never been there even though you lived there for so long.

P.S. Thai people are pretty ignorant both about white people's intentions in Thailand as well, and their ideas about what goes on in other countries can be downright ludicruous (a lot of them don't even know where the Philippines is lol). So to be fair, I suppose you find this type of ignorance everywhere.

Indeed. You mention you slept with a foreign girl (especially a Thai) it's instantly assumed that you paid her. Guys will ask me if I got with any girls in 'X' country, I'll tell them a few and they'll either ask "how much did you pay" or say "I can't believe you fucked a thai hooker". Where did I mention payment or hookers?

You have to laugh about the ping pong show thing. I've never been to one either, don't care if I ever see one, it's a load of pointless shit. There's nothing thai or cultural about it and I can live without seeing one. Going to Thailand to watch a ping pong show is quite sad.

Thais tend to not have a clue what's going on outside Thailand and many don't even know what's going on inside Thailand actually. Their geography skills are non existent and they have crazy ideas about what their neighbours get up to. Most of them are racist too, they don't like black people, don't like indian people, don't like Cambodians, Laotians, Vietnamese, Burmese. A lot of them love the Japanese and Koreans though, see them as superior. The only food they'll eat which is not thai is sushi or korean.
