I think so... or at least a "where should I go" thread. I'm glad a "everything" thread and hope people start using it. What kind of threads would actually go into the newbie travel thread?

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

A "Where should I go?" thread would be a good start. It would force newbs to real previous responses.

If they followed the forum rules and used the search function, then there would be no need to have a newbie travel forum.

Maybe a confirmation that they've read the forum rules before they are allowed to start posting?

perhaps a few newbie "read me" articles, but I don't see the point of a whole new forum either.

I think a FAQ is what is needed most. A FAQ for each forum that covers basic questions/answers/shit not to post/etc. Most active forums I visit in other niches have them. It would cut down on repetitive newbie posts, and also allow for us to just say "Read the FAQ, newbie!" and shame them into doing 5 minutes of research to find their answer.

Please someone start a "where should I go thread?" so we can just lump all those questions in together, would de-clutter the forum a lot.

There's already this thread

http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-2134.html

It's stickied at the top of the travel forum, but people rarely read it before they start posting.

We have some bs threads that should be moved to game or everything forum. I think we rarely want to be assholes but we need to check each other. Examples:

cnn report on pua in china, A Question for Members who Dont Like Asian Girls, bored out of my mind in China what to do, Bangs from couchsurfing, USA: Red State vs Blue State, is there much of a difference? (terms of GAME), Southern California, women there truly as picky as the reputation suggests?, and finally SLUT walk in Brazil.

Threads in wrong section. In the end, what can you really do? Maybe have a few more mods or just call out the bs.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

since I am new I was thinking about posting a thread like this, can you tell me if it will be taken kindly to or not?

Thread = Where in the world have you done the best with getting laid and why?

Would it be unwelcomed or what?

Been reading this forum for about six months... A "where should I go" section would be great, as long as once good info gets thrown into those threads that the posts then get merged with current datasheets.

Post away Veindarlin... there are no rules as of yet.

Thing is some of the veteran "where should I go" threads are pretty enlightening and deserve discussion. But the "I'm 10% native american and like easy girls" threads are very similar to each other.

Yes, as a newbie travel forum poster. I didnt see the "Travel List" until much later. Change the name to PLACES YOU SHOULD VISIT in MUCH bigger letters and have it be at the top of every search. Right now its at the top, but not eye-catching enough.

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

You should lock them from posting or creating new threads anywhere except the newbie section for the first 1000 posts.
They could lurk in other threads but not post.

It might be nice to have country threads instead of using the search feature. Maybe the Baltics or Scandinavia would have only one thread.

No offense but that wouldn't work and I'm not just saying that because I'm new myself.

Most new members either aren't going to want to wait that long (1000+ posts would take someone like myself a year or more) and will leave/never join the forum or they will just spam the shit out of the newbie forum to get their post count up.

It would make it nicer for the experienced members but would greatly discourage the growth of the forum. There are many members here who are still under 1000 posts and have already shared a great deal of valuable information.

The travel section doesn't appear active enough to warrant an offshoot newbie section, in my opinion. I think the best thing would be possibly expanding upon the stickies and directing new members to read them, as has been mentioned. If they still post redundant threads simply remind them of the rules and lock/delete the thread.

1000 is an arbitrary number. It's just a way to filter out the serious new members from the trolls. If a troll gets banned it will discourage him from returning if it takes a few months to gain full member status.

Off-Topic Suggestion:

I think we need to get more people to drop data on their home cities. Most datasheets on the forum are done on cities that members visit while travelling, rather than their own city which undoubtedly they'd have more expertise on. If every active member chipped in a little bit to provide info on their own city we'd have many times the number of datasheets that we already have.

Word. Yeah, 1000 would be way too much but I have seen forums that do something like that. I believe Reddit limits the number of posts you can make when you first create an account.
