Govt. free trade agreements are not real "free trade".
I used to think NAFTA was great but the truth it is it killed a lot of small businesses that used to trade with Mexico. I heard a small business owner say that it was easier and cheaper to just pay the pre-NAFTA higher tariff than to comply with the post-NAFTA paperwork. Large corporations can handle the paperwork and thus they receive the benefits of "free" trade agreements.
Colombian chicken producers will most likely be put under by the FTA. They can't compete with the crap Chicken McNugget quality Tyson garbage that will be exported to Colombia. Colombians will pretty much be forced to consume that crap.
So called "free trade agreements" also have enforcement mechanisms that result in less liberty, less market freedom, and more corporate control.
