Does anyone know of any good beginner books (PDF's) that I can start reading into? I have a job coming up requiring extensive knowledge in SQL Server. I have worked with it previously on a day to day basis, writing queries and so on but I would like to sharpen up on it and I would prefer a beginner's PDF (simplified) so that I can get into it.

Even learner software would be nice.

torrent has a ton, you can even download sql 2008 r2 and set it up on a space workstation. Also check out http://www.trainsignal.com you can get those video via my first word too

I recommend grabbing the Express or Developer editions from Microsoft (they're free). If you need PDF's, PM me and I'll send them to you.
