It's not too hard as long as you have proof of income and patience with applying.

It was pretty easy for me to get a residence permit in germany. After my 90 days was up I just went to my office in my section of the city and showed my pay stub and insurance card.

They extended me for.about 7 more months and gave me a proof card.

I had to wait with every other immigrant for about 4 hours. But the process took about 20 minutes.

I thought it would be much more complicated.

I wish I could get with some swedish chick and leach their system for a while though

Edit. The my extension is self employed. I was granted 6 months instead of 3 because I was planning on continuing school. But want given the full year because my insurance is international and not german.

The article says this. ..i pretty much applied knowing I didn't have proper paperwork. But I knew I would get the extension.

Two passports is nice, enter on one, renter automatically on another.

Some countries are not strict.

If you have long term aspirations for a country then you should go legit all the way. It's not going to look good when apply for residency or a business visa when they see from your passport that you have been breaking the law.

I just showed a print out if my bank account balance and a small sheet with bank deposits.

I might have got lucky. I literally had it printed on recycled paper

Most immigration offices I've dealt with required bank statements for 2-6 months which show that a) you have enough money and b) you have more or less steady monthly income.

Great link Roosh. Myself I can confirm the information about France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Netherlands and Romania.

In France I've got both the entry and exit stamps, but nobody went through my passport besides checking the photo. They didn't even scan it. The whole process took 15 seconds, most of which were spent trying to find an empty page to put a stamp to. No questions asked.

In Italy and Spain I did not get neither entry nor exit stamps. The immigration check took 3 seconds, and I'm pretty sure they only looked at which nationality the passport is (I guess they rely on the airlines to do the work for them). The Italian officer at the exit didn't even bother to open the passport.

Both Germany and Netherlands however were very strict. Not only they carefully went through ALL pages of the passport, they also asked how long I gonna stay and what I gonna do. On exit they also run the passport through the scanner and checked something on the computer. Same happens in Romania (it is not Schengen yet though).

haha, The best way is to have an EU passport like me. My Dad is Scottish, so even though I was born in NZ, I qualify as a UK citizen and got my EU passport. It's a pretty powerful thing. It means that for ALL the countries of the EU, I can come and go as I please, work and stay as I please,no questions asked.

At immigration there are always two lines... one for the 'haves' - EU passports holders (smiled at, greeted deferentially by all immigration officers, asked no questions, walk straight through), the other for the 'have-nots' (looked down on by immigration officers, asked stern questions, considered foreign etc.)....

Try to get that EU passport if you can and you're golden.

As dumb as the response might have sounded to you, there are probably a few people out there that don't realise the residency and work status a EU passport offers you. There are also probably a few people out there that dont realise you can do what Zarzuelazen did using his ancestry to get hold of a passport despite being born outside of Europe. I am similar to Zarzuelazen with NZ, Aussie and EU passports.

Will be looking to get a student visa at some point and hit up Europe in the next year or so. Also, Nomadic Matt's blog is pretty good, with tons of useful info, from what I recall. Is it possible to get a permanent EU visa without getting married?

Are you not technically allowed to enter on one and re-enter on another? I have US, German and Finnish citizenship and thought that it was actually allowed. If it's not, something I guess to be mindful of.
