Istanbul and Sarajevo

Tomorrow I'm flying to Istanbul and will later travel to Sarajevo. I will only be there 10 days, so I'm not counting on any notches, but I would like to at least have an enjoyable time.

The one thread that I saw about Istanbul made it look like gaming local girls is difficult and will raise the ire of the local men. I have not been able to find anything yet in the old threads about Sarajevo besides brief mentions in the threads about the Balkans.

I would appreciate any and all advice.

I really liked Sarajevo as a city, it had a mix of East meets West, old meets new and the scars of that horrible war still being in tact in many parts of the city gave it an eerie charm. I didn't get laid but I only spent 2 days there, the one night I planned to go out the friend I was travelling with wasn't feeling too good so we left the bar to go back to the hotel for what was supposed to be a quick nap and slept till morning. From what I've heard there is good nightlife and up for it girls.

I love Sarajevo. Great people, interesting history and some pretty good nightlife for a city of its size.

I was only going to be there for three days, but I ended up meeting a sexy Bosnian girl at City Pub and decided to stay another four nights.

It was not the easiest place to get laid (hence me staying for an extra four days) but the girls are very approachable and cool. There is a youthful vitality to the city.

City Pub!! God I spent so many nights there the bouncers and bartenders acually knew me by name. My story was similar, met a hot bosnian using social circle and stuck around for a long time to get the flag. Really enjoyed my time there. Great people.

Almost forgot...did score a SNL there. But it was with an austrian flight attendant I met at city pub!

If you go and want to stay in a hostel, the best is Haris Hostel just up from the central square.

Haris is a personal friend. He built the hostel with his parents from the rubble of his old house after the war. Couldn't meet a nicer guy and family. The atmospher is amazing, and if you are there in the evening he will pull out the jug of rakia and start passing it around! I have a feeling it has gotten allot bigger since I was there in 07.
