Awhile back, I started macking this blonde girl in a bookstore. Turns out she was Czech and married. And I actually lingered a little after discovering that, I found her endearing. I don't really understand marriage unless it's the only way to get someone in the country. I've never not been able to not get anything I wanted from a girl because of it. I'm going to a wedding tomorrow on an island 5 miles offshore and taking the groom to it on my boat at 2pm. I asked him why? He didn't have an answer except why not? One of my favorite sections of Esquire Magazine is the "What I've Learned" section. Ozzie Guillen, the Manager of the Miami Marlins (and Castro lover...HA HA!) had a contribution in the October 2011 issue. Among other things, one of the things he'd said was what attracted him to his wife was that "she's HOT." He continued, "she's also nice, she's a great mom - but that comes after she's hot." I love Ozzie, because he's unfiltered. Most men would be afraid to say that for fear of appearing superficial, but men first want to be attracted to the woman they're intending to spend years of their life with. She can change/improve many things about herself along the way, but she won't get hotter. If you're not attracted to her from the beginning, there's nothing she can do to help you with that.

It's interesting that the possible reasons for men living longer in marriage as opposed to outside marriage are never really delved into. The primary reason is that men probably engage in less risky behavior when they have others that depend on them. However, from the married guys I know, married life isn't always less stressful. Perhaps men take better physical care of themselves (they eat better, get more rest, etc.). At the same time, women still outlive men, so why is that? That's another question that isn't delved into in detail. I believe men still experience more stress and work harder/longer, thus shortening their lives.
