Fabric Softener

Hey guys, new to this site but been checking it out and thought i'd share my newest creation, although i found the recipes online.

I usually do a lot of my own laundry. I'm a nurse and them scrubs got to be washed all the time. Usually doing laundry 4 times a week and its just me and my girlfriend. I've been playing around the idea of making my own laundry detergent and fabric softeners.

A few weeks ago i started making my own softener by taking a 5 liter jug of plain white vinegar and adding some essential oils to it, about 25-35 drops. Holy crap the clothes really do come out soft, no vinegar smell what so ever and a hint of essential oil.

I've been using Lavender, sweet orange and vanilla oils and they really do smell nice for a fraction of the cost of say Downy etc and with out the added chemicals. Next load i do I'm gonna try sweet orange and vanilla together. Now I'm only using lavender for my clothes right now and the other scents for some of my girlfriends sweaters and our towels and sheets.

I have a peppermint essential oil on its way from amazon to use with our sweaty workout clothes. Mint essential oils have natural anti-bacterial properties but only add half to the vinegar as its a stronger scent.

I go to Costco for the vinegar. Cost $5.49 CAD and Amazon.com for the essential oils.

If anyone on here tries it out let me know what you think. I think its great, Cheap and no harsh chemicals.

Thanks for reading!
