For those people who insist that Big Pharma is blocking all life-saving research into 'natural' remedies...

Some guys in Chicago are saving lives by using sugar (a natural ingredient in certain fruits), water (a naturally occurring liquid substance), Potassium (a natural element straight out the periodic table), and a hormone that occurs naturally in the human body, insulin.

Ain't more natural than that, fellas. And there is nothing to patent either, so Big Pharma has nothing to do with this research, unless you want to be cynical and say it's all a conspiracy to keep people alive longer so that they can buy more pills.

the insulin and the premixed solution is probably produced by some pharmaceutical company. I don't really see how one experiment is cause enough to make a statement like this.

Also can someone please explain to me why people equate natural with beneficial? Arsenic is a 'natural element straight out of the periodic table' that definitely isn't good for anyones health.

I really don't understand this obsession with natural remedies. They have their place and they're great when they work. I take herbal supplements, drink ACV and all that. But for when shit gets serious I'm glad we have the capacity to cheaply synthesise all sorts of miraculous chemical concoctions.

For all its shortcoming (and they are many and severe) the pharmaceutical industry has done wonders for humanity.

Best natural remedies for not getting sick are eating healthy, exercising, and not being a fat fuck.

Americans eat like shit, pollute their bodies, watch TV instead of move their asses....Then scream, "BIG PHARMA MADE ME SICK!"

I'd add sleep to that list as well. Most AMericans dont even know what a good night of sleep feels like. Being properly rested does so much for your body.
