Congratulations for having the balls to move to the Ukraine.
-
I lived there in 2006-7. Thank goodness it was a very mild winter.
-
Did you move there from India directly?
-
Do NOT register your company there. The mafia or whatever you call them well just take it away from you if they know they can make money from it. Keep a low profile. It is a very corrupt country.
-
The girls can be very sweet, but they can also have ulterior motives. They are sizing you up to see what they want to do with you.
-
What are the Africans/Vietnamese/Arabs doing there. When I was there I saw few foreigners except some Arabs going to the university there.
-
Do you have internet in your apt or do you have to go to the cafe?
-
Where do you teach English, a school or private?
-
I think if you pipelining, it's a smart use of your time in such a miserable winter. What time does it dark? before 4PM?
-
Good luck again. I'm sure it will be a wonderful experience!

I was actually discussing light lamps with a fellow member today. Should have got one at the start of winter not the end.

Yah, kind late now.. but you might as well get one and have it for the final month and for next year.
Its not like lamps change prices from year to year.

I got 2 halogens at 7,000 lux. They are "work" lights like the kind you see on construction sites.
I got bulbs with UV filtering glass. Make sure you have these...or make sure the lamp itself has a UV filter in front of the bulb.

Only down side is the cost of electricity. 20-30 minutes per day ought to do it according to most research.

Yep, as a nomad I try not to carry too much stuff around with me!

Sun is out today, but it's starting to cloud over already. Going to gym while there's still some light

Why not get the previous girl from your last Ukraine trip to warm you up until better weather arrives? They seem pretty hot to have for the cold weather?

@xmlenigma: Send you some mails some time back.

I do have those mails but kinda focussing on some good $$ options in US/Eur.
Also, I had some friends who had gone using the same org as you but there wasnt an upfront $$ as high?

"Congratulations" on getting the job opportunity in Ukraine.
Although I don't get it - you got the job opportunity but would move there in 2 years?

Cost of living and other stuffs that you asked for depend on the city where you'd be heading off.

You could find the DS and some info for a few cities here, and how to approach girls.
Although I suggest shedding some light on where you'd be moving to?

@Deb: Man, It's no excuse! But since technically, the spring has already arrived here (so as people say), it's cool for me. In fact, I am planning on hitting Lviv too in some time. Shall be contacting you for the same.

@Spartan: The light therapy you suggested actually works! I tried it once earlier, though I feel a bit uncomfortable with it.

@xmlenighma: Doing the same, bro!

Thanks man!

Yes I moved from India directly. Transition from +23C to -18C directly!

I am getting lots of suggestions regarding the same. So I might not register the company here.

Got some friends in terms of that, and some experience with Ukrainian/Russian girls taught me to check them up for their motives, and superimpose them with my motives!

They're the ones you would see at 'Barabashova'. There are still very few expats here. I just seem very rarely.

Yeah, I got internet in my apartment.

I teach English at a school, though that too is a bit not proper for now. By next week, I shall be teaching at a school - Language school. I gave a thought about private teaching as well. But teaching at school makes you at least step out of your home and meet out the (oretty!) students and hang around them, so I might combine the two in a while.

To be honest, it's much much warmer now. I guess... it usually gets dark by 5-5:30 in the evening.

I hope so!

My bad i didnt search for individual cities here but only for ukraine and it didnt bring too many results.

I see now there is a great datasheet on kharkiv already, with a small section on daygame.

Yeah i cant do it now because im doing an erasmus semester in prague atm. And after that i have to go back home and write my final thesis and make some money with a side business im doing back home. After that i will go to the ukraine, propably in 1/2 years.

About the job opportunity i found out the german bosch fund hires ppl with a social science degree and sends them to countries like Ukraine, china, etc. You will make 1000 Euros a month and be teaching at universites and organizing some projects. So this opportunity wont go away.

Yeah in Russia I'm finally seeing concrete again on the streets and sidewalks. My definition of cold is pretty fucked up now after that week where we got -45, its definitely warmer though.

Sun's been out until about 7ish. You can really feel the build-up of longer days at the higher latitudes since it happens so much quicker.

I had a chuckle at the pic on Roosh's twitter of his view since mine is very similar. I imagine that standard apartment building plan is FSU-wide.

Good luck with getting situated..and I agree with Deb, get out and start spittin' to get some momentum. As soon as you get your first bang you'll be thankful.

If you go out around 11-noon you get some morning sun (helps with seasonal depression) so you knock out two birds with one stone.
