The story behind this is juicy. However, I'm going to make this is as concise as I can:

I went to grab a pizza and beer with my ex-girlfriend a few nights ago.
I haven't slept with her in about a year so I figure what the hell..
We're having a good time catching up blah blah blah.

Then she tells me she is heading to Pennsylvania this weekend.

Me: Ohh, ya? Cool..What are you headed over there for?

Her: Oh, this guy I met a few weeks ago asked me if I can go to his Marine Ball with him. I didn't really want to say yes but he said he would fly me out to Pennsylvania. I've always wanted to go out there. It's free so I figured why not.

Me: Hmm, he sounds like a sucker.. He can't find a date in Pennsylvania?

Her: He has a lots of money and he really likes me (she gave me reasons but i didn't pay attention). I kind of regret telling him I would go. I don't really want to go anymore. I already told him not to expect me to sleep with him. I'm not attracted to him. he's a nice guy though..

Me: Well that should be fun..

Her: Ya, and He is taking me to Manhattan also! I have never been there! I'm excited!

What the hell? Why is this dude flying a girl from California that he barely knows to Pennsylvania?

I can't remember for the life of me how they met.
I remember I asked but I think I was so stunned by the fact that some guy is actually flying her out to Pennsylvania that I didn't pay attention.

I mean, C'mon. There is tons of girls I would love to fly out from the Dominican. But the fact of the matter is, guys shouldn't do this kind of shit. Am I right?!

Either you don't interact with that many people or due to some surprising reason you are totally isolated from the beta population (compared to which the alphas are not more than a fraction). The world is full of such betas and they pull this kind of shit all the time. Doesn't surprise me a bit.

As much as we want to look at Marines and soldiers as being the ultimate alphas swimming in pussy, I have found them to be some of the most pussy starved guys I have ever met. Not all of them, but a significant number (much higher than the national norm).

It makes sense when you think about it. These guys are ramped up on testosterone, but are constantly in environments that are mostly (sometimes completely) male. That kind of environment leads to desperation. Desperation leads to EXTREME beta behavior.

I have seen Marines and paratroopers fall in love and commit to a woman that your average pizza delivery guy would fuck and forget. Why? Because the pizza delivery guy is constantly around women (just like virtually all civilians are). You want to see a ton of physically fit, decent looking guys dating a bunch of overweight, nasty, trailer trash. Find your nearest military base.

I personally know more than one soldier/Marine that has become depressed to the point of contemplating (and in one case, attempting) suicide over a woman that was a 5, at best. By far, of all of the different categories of men that I know, soldiers/Marines make the worst decisions when it comes to women. To many of these fine men get into relationships with absolute trash of women, become loyal to them, and put up with VASTLY more shit than most guys do. I also suspect that the infidelity rate for women who date these guys is MUCH higher. A woman is much more likely to cheat when she knows that you aren't going to be back for 6 months to a year.

Some time ago, the Marine Corps tried to re-institute an old rule that Marines could not get married until they hit the rank of Corporal. Too many young Marines were getting exploited by these women.

There are some serious pussy masters in the military, but they are outnumbered by the beta guys.

I think the girl would speak a little more highly of him if he displayed alpha characteristics though. She herself said "I'm not attracted to him, I don't even want to go anymore..." If he was alpha, she'd be hitting the gym and doing everything possible to make herself look 100% before leaving. Her manner of speaking about him implies that he is a desperate beta hoping to "buy" a girlfriend rather than a playboy who can throw around some cash to ensure a bang is made.

I now remember a little bit more about the guy. It just popped into my head..

I believe the guy is 22. He met her at a law internship she had over summer. His Dad owns the firm.

So, his Dad has the money, not him!

At 22, there is no way he is making that type of cash to fly a random girl out to him for the weekend.

So, now I have to assume the guy is a beta.

I mean, if the guy was a G manifesto and he flew a hot girl out is one thing.

But, if you do it on your Dad's dime, I believe that's a whole different story..

However, what the op describes, i wouldnt necessarily call him a chump, i may just say that he is acting beta due to his personal situation, however, is saving you from your misery really acting beta?
