Totally justified shooting. She was a serious threat at the time of the shooting. This is why cops have guns.
Cop should totally lose his job for failing to control the subject. That's shoddy police work that could have killed him or someone else. Unless he was still in the training phase of his career (in which case his training officer should bear the responsibility), you don't have any business being a peace officer if you let a situation escalate like this.
Non-police officers have lost their jobs for less (like unproven rape accusations).
