I have studied evolution a lot. I find (like Daniel Dennett) it is a powerful source of novel philosophical ideas.
I have never thought about loving fatties becoming an evolved response in the male population.
I wonder if it will happen?
At the moment - you have small selection of the population with a genuine fetish for fatties. And they will never have any trouble reproducing.
You also have people like me with ridiculously high standards (hence heavy reliance on porn, strippers and hookers). As such - my genes will be taken out of the gene pool during the next cull. And the human gene pool will lose a connoisseur of female beauty of the very highest standards.
Now - the vast majority of beta males who settle for fatties - do so because they cannot find anybody hotter to reproduce with.
As such - there is no actual desire for fatties which is being past into the next generation. As such - I see no reason why each generation will have an increase in the small number of guys with a genuine fetish for fatties.
The only effect I see going forward. Is guys like me self-selecting out of reproduction - since the pleasures of porn (and their extreme distaste for fatties) means they would rather not bother. But guys like me have always existed. And today use strippers, hookers and the internet - where as in the past guys like me would have used cave paintings, the imagination and prostitutes. I am guessing rape was more prevalent in the millenia gone by as well - so that has to be chucked in there as well.
So - it is at the top level that evolution is most likely to work. You will have fewer people in future who can tolerate fatties in way, shape or form. Such as guys like myself. But - getting rid of guys like me - doesn't mean there will be any increase in the number of guys with fatty fetish in the next generation.
That is how I would analyse the situation. And to be honest - I don't think much has changed. Except that I can find images of the most beautiful women in the world with a couple of clicks. That is far more powerful than jerking it to some sticks in the shape of a woman - or the memory of a chick you saw walking through the camp ten years ago.
So - it will certainly have an effect.
Evolution is an endlessly fascinating subject. It is rich in philosophical ideas. And I should add that a lot of people think they know about evolution - but really don't. I have a simple test to see if people know what they are talking about.

And it is just obscure enough - that it works as a useful shorthand to see if the guy you are talking to has actually studied evolution.
I took a 2 year break from philosophy to do nothing but study and think about evolution. It is such a fascinating field.
And I will tell you this. It wasn't the worse day of my life when I found out that Charles Darwin was a distant ancestor of mine! :-)
