By the way, just popped into the "mall."
Iphone 5 Copy: $210
Ipad Copy: $160
These were the prices he gave me with no bartering or even asking at other shops. I did see another iphone on the way home for $120 but don't remember the model.
I'm kind of keeping my eye out for my first smart phone, so how do these compare to knockoff prices in Thailand? Anyone?
I bought an iPhone 4s copy in Bkk last year for about $US90, when that was the current model. They also had them with iPhone 5 printed on it, even though the real one was not yet released.
Later found I could have bought it somewhat cheaper.
Not the same as a real one, but a friend had a real one and held them in each hand, checking a few functions. He thought it was pretty good for the price.
Funny thing. Because I bought it on impulse, when I got home, realising that I had no use for it, I listed it on an auction site with an honest description that it was a copy. Within hours the site remove the listing, advising me of copyright infringement.
I was in Shenzen and Guangzhou in May. You can walk around the wholesale/retail cellphone malls there and watch them assembling fake iPhones on their counters.
