Prosal - maybe you should check the duty free shops in the Caribbean, Barbados and Bahamas I have seen good shops although don't know if I saw IWC.
Are you saying Jakarta has the best prices?
The JLC was about 4-5$ about 10 years ago and like you rightly said they are probably double that price today. The reverso is so cool because they are no fakes and no other watch that looks like it. I have rarely seen anyone wearing one, not in Canada that is for sure.
Yeah, it's actually a good thing to have a watch which doesn't exist in fakes (even if from what I know, some replicas are now of astoundingly good quality, with automatic movements, ect - but it's a question of self-respect)
About JKT, it was in fact 10 years ago, and also the fact to be able to find a steel Daytona in a Rolex store was in itself a good deal.
Thanks for the Bahamas duty free shops tip, but I've no plans to travel to this region.
The Reverso is a classic that will never be outmoded. That is also what I like in my IWC or in the Bulgari, this blend of timeless sobriety and modernity at the same time - the kind of watch you never get tired of. And to come back to looks, this is also my politics, to buy (especially for the big buyings like winter coats, ect) the kind of quality stuff that'll look just as fantastic and current in six years as it will in six months.
