But how much does this really amount to anything? For women at their prime, i.e. 18-30, there are way more guys after that demographic than there are in supply. Especially if you're talking about desirable ones that aren't overweight. Guys in that age range are after them, plus guys in the 30s and 40s are after them. The competition for desirable women is always going to be stiff.

That's a good point. The author may have misrepresented the cause of the shift of sexual power, he said it was demographics while it probably was the sexual revolution, but this is still a far more red pill commentary than you find in most media outlets.
