So people are ugly just because they are mixed and brown? Only Brazilians of pure German ancestry are attractive?
In a country where many people are brown-skinned, pale skin and European features are highly valued, and signal high status. Look at fashion models and millionaires' wives: virtually all of them are pure Europeans. This is a fact. Note that I wrote "pure European", not "pure German".
Brazilians love Europe and Europeans (especially Northern Europeans). They do dream of marrying Europeans, traveling in Europe, and living in Europe. If a Brazilian girl marries a European guy, her parents will be proud, her family will move up the social ladder (if she's lower middle class; if she's upper middle-class or upper class, she's already pure European). Her children will be whiter, more European-looking, and thus they will have higher status than her. They will have access to better education, better healthcare, and they have greater chances of leading a healthy and happy life.
You might think this is awful and unfair, but it's the reality. And these beliefs are found in all social classes, though people will seldom admit it.
