Yeah, thanks all for the comparisons. Don't think my exotic factor will trump not knowing Portuguese or the culture, so Brazil is out unless I procure work there.
Still not sure about Columbia, but it would come down to picking a 2nd tier city to play up the exotic factor. So for now, my choices will stay with the DR, and a possible revisit to El Salvador, although is getting a little wild down there right now. Even enough to make me nervous. And that's saying a lot.
