I bought a Mercedes 450SL about 18 months ago. I wanted one since I was a kid, and picked one up off a retiree who had a wife forcing him to sell some of his car hoard. Ive slowly been fixing the small acceleration and steering problems where I can and paying for it when I don't trust myself, which is mostly due to German overengineering. The odometer even stopped working but thank God for online Mercedes car forums. My next project is a scratch on the hood and clear coat issues on the trunk. Women love the old V8 sound, engine rumble, and how the doors thunk when you close them. I live in an area where I can have the top down half the year. A 20 minute drive is a 'date'. I notice the car's faults more than women do.
