As it's such an international city its a good city to pick up different flags. The swedish chick was an au pair (cliche I know) and the Greek chick was a foreign exchange student. Tons of them there if you know the right parts of town to hang out in.
Lumeire, you seem to have enjoyed a lot of success in Paris. How did you crack the au-pair? Also, which parts of Paris did you hang out in? I know there are plenty of threads on Paris but most seem to be geared towards high-end clubs and au-pairs/students are not the types who frequent such places IMO.
Capote,
Two small suggestions:
First of all, The 6th & 7th arrondisement are known for having attractive people in Paris. Not coincidentally, the 7th arrondisement is smack in the middle of Paris, and also the most touristy area, with the Eiffel Tower.
1) The 6th arrondisement, right around the where Rue de Buci intersects with Rue de Seine (around the latin quarter) was one of my favorite areas to hang out. Granted, there are still lots of tourists (although not as much as 7th) there BUT it is also where there are a few major universities with tons of both french students and exchange students. This area is almost always very happening, with tons of bars, cafés and generally a great buzz. In addition to the tourists, and students you see a lot of foreigners around this area who are in Paris for work, assignment, or something like that. Generally, I really like the type of person who congrates in this area.
2) Also, in the park grassy areas AROUND the Eiffel Tower, there are people playing frisbee, soccer or something pretty much almost every day and they were almost always open to me when I asked to join in and I met some cool people this way. The groups are usually mixed, so that includes girls of course. Also, allmost every night, around that same area there are young people drinking wine, champagne, and/or smoking hookah, especially students, including particularly exchange students, who are great fun. BTW, a bottle of champagne can be bought for as little as .99 centimes (roughly $1.45).
I think sometimes the touristy areas are often written off too quickly, when in fact they can still be a great source for meeting ppl and girls.
