Feel free to do some marketing wherever you want. Keep us updated on it 
Do it the way you wish, personally I think that it is best to make your message look like a friendly tip, such as:
"Hey everyone, I know a lot of you might look for the RVF archive, so here it is: .... please share it, many people will appreciate to be aware of it."
This way it doesn't look spammy, or like a bad intention post.
On my side I will send private messages on sosuave, skilledseducer and STW. Sending a ton of PMs seems sketchy but we have to try something.
