The guy makes no mention that Mel and his ex-gf are even friends or even hang in similar circles anymore, so why you would make this assumption I don't know. It makes no sense. It's been 6 years, an eternity at that age!

Besides, even if you were somehow right, why shouldn't he fuck her and have a good time with her? Maybe he wants to make it a LTR already so a warning would be applicable, but why in the hell should he not pursue a girl that is attractive to him?

To the OP:

Go for it (sounds like you've already invited her over). If she shows up and is immediately all over you, make out with her, then pull back a little. Then ramp it up, then pull back a little. Then go for the kill when she's practically begging for it.
